Description
Another image from this beautiful location! Was so lucky as a cloud came over head it allowed me to grab a longer exposure as well as a more even tonal range - no sunny patches!Canon 40D, Sigma 10-20mm, 18mm, F/14, 1sec, 3 image stitch

Nice shot... wow that viewing platform wasnt there last time I visited. Another thing to try and not get in your shot.

Thanks! really!? i thought it had to be recently done - i'm sure i've seen shots from a similar standing ground without it. Guess it preserves the forest a tad more

Great shot mate, looks like an advertisement for either Canon or maybe a HD TV. Only problem I have is the man, he's a little distracting, not a major problem by any means but a detractor from the overall quality, in my opinion.

Heh, I was never any good at doing that, what program would you use? I'm thinking photoshop but I'm not sure how exactly.

Yeah Ps CS2 and using the clone tool or maybe could get away with just darkening him out

Yeah, my friend who's been using PS for a lot longer than me regarded my rather badly for using the Clone tool, but whatever, I still use it. I can't be bothered getting CS4 yet, probably will though, still on 2.

Yeah I got CS3 but find myself using CS2 more for some reason? CS4 looks cool though how you can create your own palettes, would make workflow heaps quicker/easier

Mm, I might get CS4 but damnit, they're asking about $1200 for it, not fun.

I don't know that much about photography, but I absolutely love the placement of the shot. Were you on a bridge for this?

Beautiful stitch mate. I would have closed it down to f22 and got a longer exposure though, would bring the background into focus too

How do you go with stitching wide angle photos?
By the way have you ever herd of Potoroo Falls in Dingo Tops National Park?

CainPascoe In reply to mental3pal [2009-01-01 04:36:34 +0000 UTC]
Definitely a bit harder than longer focal lengths due to the distortion, but i haven't had any real probs with it
Nup but i did a quick search and seems there nearby - your way I'm actually waiting for some decent rain so i can go back and redo this [link]

mental3pal In reply to CainPascoe [2009-01-01 04:41:48 +0000 UTC]
I had alot of trouble stitching this together [link] at 18mm, and that looks like a cool place, where about is it?
Yea, me and my friend are planing to go there some time soon to take photos

CainPascoe In reply to mental3pal [2009-01-01 10:45:07 +0000 UTC]
Yeh? I can only guess the overlap is what makes it harder, depending where/how much it distorts And those falls are just 60km west of Port - Wilson river
