Description
I made this cake for the 2011 Iowa state fair. It is based off the Monster Book of Monsters from Harry Potter. The mouth and tongue are made out of modeling chocolate, the tentacles are made out of brown fondant.Result: 1st place in single tier category

They displayed the cakes weird at the Iowa State Fair. I think mine ended up on a top shelf, so you couldn't see the cake at all.

I'm sure someone's already mentioned that there's a monster book like this in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter down in Orlando. I'm seriously terrified to walk by that book. XD But this awesome. The details are excellent and the mouth looks great! ^^

I like the way this still looks like a cake. I know it's partially because of the shape of the book, but anyway. When I see cakes like this I think more of a sculpture than a cake. But you managed to combine both art forms perfectly. It's beautiful, and I still wanna eat it! XD
