This instruction is really awesome by the way. It really helps when all thr othet instructions on the web only give very vague instructions.

Can you give me a tip with the coloring? I know liquid color messes up the fondant once it's done, but would it be okay if I put the liquid color into the molten marshmallows before adding the sugar?

Wow, that is exactly what I was searching. Perfect for my Kuroshitsuji themed cake ^^
Just one question: When it is ready to work with, does it have a similiare consistency like clay or more like Marzipan?

I wish I would have found this before. I made marshmallow fluff fondant yesterday and it turned out ok, but all the instructions I found were so vague. I was worried the whole time that I was doing something wrong. Next time I will try this method because your tutorial is explained so much better. Also thanks for posting the shark cake yesterday. Your waves inspired me and saved me from having to make another whole batch of frosting.

Absolutely my pleasure. I'm only sorry to hear it didn't help you sooner.
I hope it's clear and detailed enough to follow - I ended up having to condense it a little from the version on the blog to make it fit!

Ohhhhh I'm SO glad I found this today! You can use this fondant like the normal store-bought stuff, right?

You sure can. If made right it's much easier to use that store bought stuff - stretches much thinner without cracking or tearing!
If making complex figures I usually use regular fondant instead as I find it a bit more pliable. But for anything not delicate, like covering a cake, MMF is great.

What does the marshmellow fondant feel like compared to Ceramic clay, do you know?

Do you mean while you're working with it, or after it dries?

It's been a while since I worked with ceramics, but from memory clay is a lot easier to work with. Fondant is quite soft to work with and can be quite limp. If you make a large shape from fondant and let it sit, it will sag and droop into itself. It also has the added issue of needing to be kept at the right temperature/humidity, so if it's in your hands too long the consistency changes. Clay is a lot firmer in the hand and feels more malleable. It also doesn't crack the way fondant does - clay is much easier to keep smooth.

This looks delectable! I'm a disaster when it comes to anything in the kitchen but it looks so good that I'm tempted to try it. Thank you for the tutorial!

Haha, well if you ever take it on I hope it's helpful. It's so much easier to make than normal fondant!
