Hey there guys, here is a quick WIP (Work In Progress) of a Spyro painting that I am working on. I didn't really plan on this becoming a full painting, but rather a quick sketch to figure out how to draw Spyro for a full body painting I was going to do, but as I worked on it I decided to make this into a personal study.

I am working directly off of a photo of Spyro, which game, I can't really say, but I just found it on google images, and decided to use it as a reference, and I guess for this piece, I'm using it for a value study, which I'll eventually add color to the top of once I'm finished.

This has taken me so far, about an hour and a half, which isn't bad, since I'm not finished yet. I'm liking how it's turning out, and hopefully in another hour or two I'll have it completely finished, and ready for some color.

Btw, just as a side note, one of the things that I've been learning lately is that you can't do too many studies, they're one of the biggest factors when trying to improve, and if you're trying to get good at drawing values, just grab an image online, or a photo you've taken, upload it to your computer, turn the saturation off, and try to reproduce the image using blacks and whites... however I'd highly suggest not color picking the values, because if you really want to learn, you need to grab them yourself, and if they seem to light or dark, simply make the changes as you see fit to get a closer resemblance to what it is you're trying to draw.

Anyway, enough of that, I'm going to go back into finishing out this piece, so yeah, I hope you guys like how this is turning out so far, and thank you guys very much for checking out my work, it's always appreciated!
