Hey guys, just wanted to share with you a piece that I’m currently working on. I’m testing out a different art program on the iPad, Artstudio Pro to see how I like it and how it compares to Procreate. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how good this program is, and in order to really test it, I needed to create an actual art piece to see how my process of creating art would work and what aspects would change or push myself to figure out different ways to accomplish certain goals along the way in the process of creating a painting that I might not otherwise think of doing in a different art program.

I noticed that this program really emphasizes on more painterly style brushes, which is great, but trying to find a combination of brushes that work well together has kind of been a puzzle for me, as well as how it handles certain tasks in changing the hue/saturation, color balance, levels, etc. It’s quite different than Procreate, but I also think that it’s not all bad once you get used to it. I’m going to keep working on this one and see how Artstudio Pro will carry me through to the end of this piece and hopefully by the end I’ll have learned something new about this program, and potentially how I might use it again in the future.

Hope you guys like how this portrait is coming along, I really like the aesthetic in this one, and I really hope that it looks great once it’s completely finished! ^^
