Hi guys, I just got my first iPad the other day, the new iPad Pro 12.9 so I could create art on the go, in the living room, at my parents place, etc. So, obviously after getting my iPad, the first art program I had to get was Procreate, and I was actually pleasantly surprised at how well that program works, the brushes are very nice and smooth, the interface is very clean and has a minimalistic approach, which I really like as it keeps the drawing area clutter free. The layer system is also pretty good too, I noticed some differences in how they work, and some layer features, such as clipping masks, and grouping layers I will have to look further into how to use them.

Also, the adjustments settings for colors and values are definitely a bit different than in Photoshop, but it’s not too hard to figure out, it just seems to operate in a slightly different way than I am used to.

I decided to do a painting of Regirock as my test project instead of Wartortle, because of two reasons, first of which is that I’m still trying to figure out how to design him, I’ve been at it on and off, and I’m not yet satisfied with my designs just yet, and secondly, I had done a drawing of Regirock last week traditionally and really wanted to try drawing him digitally.

I plan to do a design of Wartortle in another app I got for the iPad called Infinite Painter, which has also been a lot of fun to work with so far, so I hope I get something neat done in that program to show you guys! So yeah, I hope that you guys like how this piece has turned out, and as always, here is the Pokédex entry for Regirock!

Pokedex Entry, Regirock: Regirock was sealed away by people long ago. If this Pokémon's body is damaged in battle, it is said to seek out suitable rocks on its own to repair itself.
