You know whats really, really, really fun? This. *has a fan blowing, and then starts inching her index finger towards it to see if she can stop it from spinning...* OH GOD!
*five hours later and a trip to the hospital...*
You know what else is really fun?
Going through really, really, really horrifically old pictures and finding some of your really really really old characters that have been laid to rest in the Character Grave Yard, and revamping them just for the fun of it. I tend to do that a lot, even tho I have like, twenty million characters to draw, I guess I just can't get enough of drawing a bunch of different characters so I decide to go bug my old characters.
So anyway. Long, long, LONG before my current crew of characters in Everglades (*blinks.* Yes, Mac. there were other characters before you. You weren't my only and first character. *slaps his arrogance as he's seriously dumbfounded that I actually have OTHER characters! LE GASP!*) , my sister and I had this...like...series...of characters who we were like totally obsessed with, called The Super Heroes. (WOAH. I KNOW. THATS LIKE THE MOST CREATIVE NAME EVER.) Now, I will not go into further detail on how these characters came about because a) my sister will probably kill me and b) its really lame and ar-tarded and you guys will probably all make fun of me. But anyway. They were basically characters, who were superheroes. There was Super Dog (wow. The names just keep getting better.), Purple Preditor, Gypsy, Basher, Dark Deer, Blue Lightning (no. He wasn't a car.) and I think eventually, we finally named the last one Infinity, altho her original name was Triceratops, and then like Tyme, or something, and then eventually we just called her Infinity. And the sad thing is that I actually STILL remember the names of all the characters too.
Anyway, she and I both, essentially, made our own comics with the characters. (They were really stupid comics. Atleast mine were.) And this one story that I came up with for my version of the comics involved where the bad guy made opposite sex doubles of the characters. They were called...(GUESS! JUST GUESS!!!) The Doubles. The doubles included Hyper Dog, Purple Punisher, Dark Fawn, The Bandit, Pink Lightning (think her name was...) and the other characters names escape me right now. I mean I was going all out with this story. It was really the only comic that I actually did, even tho the whole "double" story wasn't supposed to happen until later on in the story line of the Super Heroes, but I just had to do it, I guess. Keep in mind that my sister and I were young back then, and I'm pretty sure we all had our really embarrassing characters we try not to tell people about.........
Well eventually the Super Heroes went bye bye, and sometime when I was 15 or something I started creating Calico and friends (and thats a WHOLE other story......) But even tho my Doubles were TOTALLY lame, I still love to go back and doodle them up and give them new designs, simply for something new to draw, and something to do.
One of my personal favourites in the bunch was Hyper Dog, the leader of the Doubles. She was really bad ass and powerful and even tho she was a bad guy, she wasn't really all that evil and sneaky. I actually think at one point I was going to have her and Super Dog fall in love with each other, which now that I think about it is really really disturbing because Hyper Dog was just Super Dogs double (so she looked just like him and stuff, just with boobs. And stuff.). I've previously redrawn Hyper in a few pictures (from probably about 6 years ago), pictures of which I will not show you because they are old and will make your eyes bleed.
So here is the 2009 version of Hyper Dog! I kept her colours the same for her outfit, but revamped it a lot. I used a lot of the same things fashion wise that I love and incorporated them in her design. By that, I mean I decided to change her original body suit into an off-shoulder top thing, but that ended in a bathing suit sorta thing (it totally reminds me of the 80's, with that high cut bottom half 0.0). Gave her blue stillettos, and got rid of her original cape. I sorta figure a cape would just be cumbersome (I don't know how superheroes like Batman and Superman can stand having a cape. Mine would probably just go all over the place and twack me in the face or make me trip....), so I got rid of it. Originally, the characters had masks too, if I'm not mistaken, but I don't really like the mask idea. So I got rid of that too. I also gave her more of a layered hair style, typical of my characters today. I really like how this came out, actually!
(But, for the record, don't expect any crossovers with my current characters. And if I do that, PLEASE for the love of Almighty Whatever Deity You Believe In SHOOT ME.)
You know whats really fun, too? Notice how some of your older characters remind you of some of the characters you have now? Like, Hyper always reminded me of Trisha. I dunno why, she just does. And Dark Fawn reminds me of Chastity. And I vaguely remember Triceratops/Tyme/Infiniti/Whatever the hell her name is ' double Whatever the Hell his name was being vain, wearing sunglasses and a leather jacket, and thinking he was the shit and thinking with his privates most of the time, and getting into the same stupid predicaments Mac gets into.
It's kinda wierd, isn't it? XD
Anyway, I like how she came out in the end. She was always a lot of fun, even if she was kinda lame! I'll probably pull out that comic I did sometime and read it. Gawd, it was so cheesy. XD I'm totally jealous of her legs tho 0.0 They probably don't have an ounce of fat on them 0.0 Again, shoulda done more with the inking on her face...But the inking is still alright
So yes! Here she is! A revamped Hyper Dog! (If you look hard enough in my gallery, you might find a picture of her somewhere, and maybe one or two in my Side 7 gallery......) Hyper Dog here is © to Jess Ratte

ZOMG, I SO remember these chars Ah, nostalgia.
I have on several occasions gone back and read some of the stories I wrote... YIKES. *sighs* Oh, we were so silly. I love you.
Great re-design. Though... she looks a bit like a cross-dressing Rage Hee hee. Sorry. I still like it though

God, I don't dare go back into that chest with all the stories. Mostly because A, the last time I did so earwigs came flying out and B, the things in there are never to be seen by eyes again. XD I couldn't believe all the stupid crossovers we used to do with them too XD
REally? 0.0 I suppose she looks a bit like Rage, its probably just the colour scheme XD

Awww thankies! I love her ears too! It's fun to draw ears like that every now and then, since they are floppy and stuff! For some reason over the years I just gave all my characters cat-like ears XD Don't know why, really.

She's so cool! Excellent pose and anatomy - I can really believe she's a badass superhero. Or maybe I just like female characters with poofy dirty blonde hair. Whatever. But I really like this one!

LOL, thankies! She was a lot of fun to draw, its always fun to go back and doodle up older characters! Even tho some of them were really, really, really lame. I have plenty of older characters that I could redraw, all of the characters that were from when Hyper Dog was around are all sitting in this little chest thing in my closet, I haven't opened it in years. For one, the last time I opened it, a gross earwig came crawling out, and two... well, everything else in there is pretty terrifying too LOL XD
Awww I love poofy blonde hair too! Hell, I just love poofy hair in general! *plays with her own poofy hair*

Me too - I've got a lot of old characters, some of whom you can find way back in my gallery. If I redrew them I'm sure I could come up with some much better designs.

LOL, yes, old chraacters are so fun! I have so many old, stupid ones that I thought were just the bees knees when I created them. So sometimes, its just fun to go back over then and just revamp them. I'll never use them again, but its always fun creating a new design for them hee hee I might keep some of them if I like thier revamped look, but most of the time I dont XD
