All right. I've been inactive for long enough. First and foremost I'm posting this. requested this when I was taking holiday requests and thus it only feels appropriate that it's the first thing I post after my holiday absence. I had the idea for this for awhile and wasn't sure how I would follow through (the title was smacking around inside my head trying to get out). I finally just sat down and gave something a shot, this is the end result. I hope you like it!
The sketch was done in pencil and the rest was colored in Photoshop CS6. I don't really know how long it took, maybe two hours?

Your choice and execution of perspective, lighting and colours are all very commendable 
The only thing I would point out, though, is how harsh your detailing strokes look when I zoom in for a closer look at them. I love how you've layered the various shades, but especially on the wing, the harshness of the strokes seem to take away from it for me. Perhaps you might consider blending the colours in a bit as you layer them?

But seriously, the colouring and lighting on this is amazing as always and also very striking. Do you think I could try out your wing colouring technique on something I'm drawing at the moment in Photoshop? I'm doing some practise work and I'm trying out allsorts of new styles.

This is like..absolutely insane!!!!!!!
When I saw this in my inbox I was like..."No way..no way this is my picture..."
"Holy shit..
....holy shit no waaaayyyyy!!!!!" XDDDD
Seriously, this is fantastic...I love how deep and sophisticated the colors are; I've always enjoyed more of a deep color palette, I feel like it allows the areas of brightness to really shine - as seen here! lol All of the detail in the feathers is what really sets this off though! The foreshortening on the chest and the attention to how the feathers flow with the body just make this whole thing dynamic as hell. I love how there are little areas of saturated color too, like a tasty little patch of glittery goodness >w<
The pose is fantastic as well, little guy is fixing to kick some ass! lolol and as always your bird legs are A+ X3 I've been thinking alot about what you said about your drawing dinosaurs helping with that; makes perfect sense considering birds are descended from dinosaurs, lol

Your attention to detail is so flattering I'm all The saturated colors was a quick addition I decided to do at the end; I'm really happy with the result, but even more happy that you noticed!! Also the pose was sort of a fluke?! I think I thought about it long enough that my hand sort of just threw it up on the page. Thanks, hand.
But yeah, man. Dinosaur feet. You should draw lots and LOTS of dinosaur feet.

Dinosaurs are the first thing that I remember really liking to draw when I was little, was SUPER Obsessed lol, I would go through phases of intense interest. Dinosaurs>Sharks>Birds>Pokemon>Mythical creatures>Power Puff Girls(lol)>Spongebob>Dogs>Hamsters>Anime/Manga and on and on..>w<
