My part for August's Creature Exchanges c: This time I got the lovely task to design a Peryton with colours based on a few select birds! I chose the colours of the Cedar Waxwing~

1 - What parts of your prompt were written well and easy to understand? Was there anything the writer of the prompt could improve on or include next time they create a prompt?
The prompt was incredibly easy to understand, very open for creative interpretation, broad variety of palettes to choose from, simply great !!

2 - Please explain how you interpreted the prompt to create your design. Which features did you use? Did you stick to the chosen palette or make changes to it? Does the design you created have any special abilities or quirks?
I had a lot of fun with this, I absolutely loved getting to design my own Peryton because I have a big soft spot for re-designing mythological creatures! I was also very pleased that you asked for your creature to look elegant and elfin~
First of all I chose one of the birds to use as a palette, which was really tough because you had some fantastic choices there! I ended up taking the Cedar Waxwing because I loved it's silky look and the very soft pastel-y colours it has.
For the bodyshape of the peryton I wanted to make sure it looked really elegant and delicate, hence the very thin legs and slim face. I also wanted to make sure that the Peryton didn't just look like a casual dear with attached wings, but really find a good mix for deer and bird, without giving them the bird hind legs that the Peryton has in it's mythological artwork. Applying the colours of the Waxwing was quite a challenge, it really didn't look as good as I had imagined it at first, but with some slight colour tweaks and a little silky shimmer, it looks really nice now, at least in my opinion c:
I did add the flowers to the antlers and also a little flower necklace and some loose petals for a more elegant and elfin look , feel free to remove those if they do not fit what you had in mind c: Also please feel free to change the eyes if you prefer them not to glow white~
