*eye twich* that son of a-! *stops before completing, walks calmly the next room, shuts the door, then yelled things that should not even be in my vocabulary. Then I come back out* I hate his fathers guts already. Anyways, off to read the rest. Great story so far.

Poor Manic! His dad reminds me of this SVU eppisode where they have to go against one of their own when the wife of another cop keeps claiming he is abusing her. During a basketball game, he even punches Stabler. I can totttaly see Manic's dad doing that.

Somehow I suspect he beats up his wife too. Does Manic's mom hate him too or is it just his dad. The song "My Mom" by Eminem kinda reminds me of of Manic's mom in this story.

Manic's mother was indifferent to him in his first months of life, but she has grown to despise him as well and more abuses him mentally and emotionally with words.

He went to one half of the year of kindergarden before the staff became too suspiscious of manic's withdrawn state and his random injuries... so his parents pulled him out and began "homeschooling" him saying that Manic's personality couldn't handle the classroom experience

Ha ha no they kinda just gave him the books and said "Here figure it out..." Of course I'll let you in on a little secret, Manic is very very intelligent and is mostly self taught so his learning abilities are incredible despite the situation he's in... kinda a miracle he used to study to get away from the frustration and pain of home

yeah, you put that in chapter 1 or 2 i think. it said how he may have been just a toddler, but his brain was very developed for his age. maybe that was the only good thing he had at that age?

yeah he wasn't very coordinated physically but mentally Manic excels you are right it's in chapter 2 where it's mentioned for the first time
