Well... it's been two weeks now that I've finished Life is Strange, and... well, I still don't feel all too well about it. It literally took me days to decide, in my head, which ending to take.This is my way to try and feel better about it. I need to think that, somehow, Max and Chloe will always be together.
But damn... this game ate my soul.

Drawn using Cintiq 13HD and Photoshop CC. I made a bazillion of reference screenshots from within the game (for drawing Max and Chloe but also the background), and fiddled with the model exports to help me come up with a pose.

I just end game 2 days ago, and I also choosed Bay.
I cried a lot. It was so sad, but it was even worse when I saw Max crying after staying so strong for so much time. But I think she finally will become "mature" after such a choice.
I also went more emotional when I saw that Kate was alife again.
And Max wont be alone as she have faithful people with her, which will give her support and love, like Kate and Warren.
At the end, what Chloey gave us as a gift are beautiful memories.
And now she rests in peace with Rachel and William.

you know you could(or I could) write a fanfic about how she chose either (you choose) and afterwards had and intense emotional break that triggered a massive use of her power which leaves her hospitalized for a while but when she gets out it turns out that she warped back a few weeks before the story in the game begins and uses all her knowledge to warn the towns people and have chloe leave beforehand to prevent her death . however during this she completely loses her ability to rewind. and never gets it back.
but she has chloe.

I havent played yet but the first thing I saw about it was the ending (through no fault of my own) I know I'm not going to be able to let her die. Sorry Arcadia Bay....Your fate is sealed

Well I played it now its either let the bay get flattened and hope ppl made it or make a wonderful non deserving girl die alone friendless miserable and after being molested. I could only sit through save Chloe the other ending I had to switch the game off after seeing their good times turn to sad lonely max

Well, there's a faint light of hope at the end of the Sacrifice Chloe ending, if you turned the game off before the end of the cinematic. The blue butterfly - Chloe's Spirit - lands on the coffin, and flaps wings happily. Max sees it, and smiles. But I'll give you that, doesn't make it a happy ending either. (btw, on the Sacrifice Bay ending, you do see a lot of dead bodies in the street, and Warren, Joyce and Frank most likely didn't make it :/)
I could debate about that ending subject for days, but this isn't the place I guess
In any case, I'm glad you liked that piece ^^. Drawing it helped me cope with the feels

The one thing I think saved that ending is The fact that in the alt timeline where Chloe is shot by (SPOILER@@@@@@@@m r @ Je ffe r s @o
n ) The diner explodes and all the windows blow out as I have screenshotted for a blog I'mma make on the subject. In the end the sign has fallen but the windows are all in tact. The boat is in the doorway like in the other ending but It does seem to be standing well.
However Warrens car is shown flipped with a dead body near it, There isn't much hope for the poor nerd unless that was an unlucky pedestrian. There is a bearded man outside the diner dead, most likely a fisherman. (I studied this alot nerd alert). The other big hint about this is the game developers said that it's up to you to choose who you think is alive or dead. They left it open for that reason. I feel like in every storm some people fled. It ain't that big of a town getting out couldn't be that hard, after all Chloe and Max lived. There must be some big chars that died. I'm going to write a follow up fanfic because I feel this could be a good story to tell. Especially Max in LA with Chloe and max trying to cope with all of this not strong enough to return to Oregon or even her parents after it.

I'll just say that - after having a long discussion with the lead designer of the game himself (I work with them) - it's a little bit more complex than that, but it kinda is the bottom line

En tout cas tu as vraiment réussi à capturer et à rester fidèle à l'ambiance du jeu, je veux dire par-là que tu es resté proche des modèles in-game, mais en beaucoup plus beau (les textures du jeu ne sont quand quand même pas géniales ^^). Beaucoup de créateurs fan-art devraient s’inspirer de ton travail
Par curiosité, il t'a fallu combien de temps pour le réaliser ?
D'ailleurs est-ce que c'est l'image originale, ou est-ce que tu as travaillé avec une plus grande résolution ?

Il m'a fallu environ beaucoup trop de temps à le réaliser lol. Ça date de l'époque avant que je ne change de technique, d'où le côté un peu kitsch comparé à mes portraits Life is Strange, qui m'ont également pris beaucoup moins de temps.
Ce n'est pas l'image originale. Mon canvas d'origine est presque 2 fois plus grands (ce qui a joué dans le temps qu'il m'a fallu pour le finir). Je travaille désormais avec des résolutions plus raisonnables - c'est plus simple, et moins gourmand pour mon PC

Kitsch peut-être mais ça fait plus dessin/cartoon, d'où l'aspect plus proche du jeu à mon avis. Tes autres portraits sont très bien mais font quand même plus penser à une peinture.
Je me doutais que ton canevas était plus grand lol Le problème c'est que dans quelques années des oeuvres en 1080p auront l'air complètement rabougris :/ Enfin c'est la vie j'imagine lol

This game ate my soul too, but ultimately I knew sacrificing everything was selfish, but I still did it anyway; Chloe is too important, if someone asked you to kill your best friend and your only love that you went though hell and back saving from death tons of times, you couldn't do it, and I couldn't either. And yes, I still haven't got over this game.

I saved Chloe. There was no other choice. (the choice even being there ingame was an insult to me). Max would never sacrifice Chloe, It's an out of character choice for people that let reason rule over their feelings. But when love is in play, reason has no place.
Chloe is Max' Angel, her Lighthouse. She couldn't live without her. Had there been the option to sacrifice Max herself, she would've taken that over Chloe. But never Chloe.

This ending crushed my heart... but overall it's better than the arcadia one... I wish you had the choice to try and intervene with Nathan without using rewind, even if that means you get shot! But what if you survived? then Chloe'd be alive too..... I want that ending.

Well, technically, this drawing was supposed to depict the save Arcadia Bay ending. I wanted to have Chloe look ghost-like, but I couldn't make it >.>
About intervening without rewind... I believe the point is Chloe had to die at this moment. I think getting shot in her place wouldn't have fixed the Storm, alas.

I watched the Sacrifice Chloe ending but played the BAE over Bay ending. My Max would never kill Chloe. This art is lovely though.

I watched both endings, but honestly, both make me feel really bad.
I'd love to play the whole game a second time, but in all honestly, I don't think I ever will... once was traumatizing enough.

the game was great but the endings horrible,I think the least episode was kinda mediocre too. Too many things without explanation,they even don't explained properly how Rachel died we only have Mr. Jefferson words, and he is a sooooo reliable person. I think the same,second time is not a good idea. One is traumatizing enough. I feel bad with saving Chloe,and horrible with letting her die.

I actually liked both endings, and I'm not one to believe things always need to be entirely explained. I'm fine with mystery, doubt. And I'm fine with how Episode 5 turned out.

Thank you! I started working on this piece right after finishing the game, and pretty much sums up how I was feeling. This was the first time a game got me so emotionally affected... Drawing served as a catalyst for these emotions.
