Description Speed paint of a scene from Mary Shelly's Frankenstein when the Creature tries to kidnap the unsuspecting William. I was supposed to write an essay but instead I painted. ffff.

Wow.

Okay, I'm going to jump back and take a nap now.

Awww...he just wanted a friend. Still, throttling William and framing that chick was going a bit too far...

i know right, but really it's all victor's fault anyways. he really shouldn't have mess with the nature's law in the first place.

Wow, I really like the way you painted this--I don't really know anything about digital painting, but I like the sense of... I don't know... hurriedness created by the brushstrokes. And the effective lighting... and the Creature's expression. You've really captured the scene well!

Nope. He is not. What's about to happen to the lad is the result of a creature being born, tossed into the woods, having to learn to read, eat and function completely by himself, finding a family, doing their odd jobs for a year in secret out of a desire to be loved, accidentally scaring off said family once they actually meet him in a manner that sets their house on fire, going to a village and getting shot in the chest, then finding out that all this happened because a man named Victor Frankenstein spent years making him and then abandoned him simply because he 'looked ugly'. And then said creature finds out Frankenstein is living happily nearby, and that this young lad is related to him.

In other words, the lad is about to die due to bad parenting on the part of Victor Frankenstein.

The colouring looks fantastic, and I'm really in love with the colouring as well!
And wow, you did a really brilliant job with the pose and expression of the creature- it's so odd, it matches just perfectly!
I really like the giant tree tooβ™₯

My word, Angie! This is fantastic!

The brightness is pretty interesting, but what got me right off the bat was how almost realistic William's face is, though he's a smidge snub-nosed.

Brush strokes wise, it gives it this impression that everything is sort of in motion around William, who isn't in motion at all. Very interesting!

Frank a lttle bit awkwardly contorted, though. It seems kind of like he should be looming or reaching out for the kid, but is more restrained from it? I never read Frakenstein though! So, I guess I don't really have a say in how he "should" be.

Overall, great!

Thank you for such a great comment, really!
Ahaha, yeah I tried to make it somewhat realistic but I ended up making this only a speed paint since I quickly got fustrated with details. As for the motion thing, to be honest, LOL I didn't really plan that but sure, why not. Though I wanted it to seem like William was unaware of his surroundings.

The Creature is described in the book as because extermely tall so I thought he would be kind of monstrous and awkwardly contorted.

Thanks again for your comments, I really appreciate it ! you should give Frankenstein a read, its pretty good. Oh, and fun fact, the Creature has no name and Frankenstein is the name of the scientist ! Haa! Weird how media has it all wrong.
