Description
I was planning to make a quick wallpaper for my laptop, so that's why I choose Luna since it made more sense to put her in a dark night environment and the blue color scheme will not be as distracting compared with other colors. As you might have noticed, the composition is kinda heavy on the right since most of my stuff in my desktop are mostly on the left, so it was done on purpose to balance things out.I also tried out the water reflections but unfortunately it will come out as a smudged abomination if you choose to export the project as a poster, so what I did instead was to export the project as image sequence, that way reflections were visible alongside with the bloom but the resolution is only limited to 4K (GabeN why). Also keep in mind that the reflections aren't perfect due to the limitations of the Source engine.

But she does not match with the more realistic background and fish at all.

Honestly, that's where the artistic part is. I prefer a realistic looking background and then add a pony into the scene, it provides more details to the whole piece. Sure, it all comes down to personal preference.

Here's a tip for rendering reflections at a higher resolution. You can render with image sequence (like you did for this) but you set up multiple cameras to each render a smaller section of the image at the 4K resolution, and then you can stitch them together in Photoshop with the photomerge feature. Because you're rendering in 4K, the reflections will still show up properly, but it means you can render higher resolutions. The other advantage with this is that you can retain the bloom that image sequence provides, which poster render doesn't. I started rendering this way a little while ago, and for the most part it has less problems than poster render, you just have to make sure you render each section with enough overhang for Photoshop to be able to stitch them accurately. If you want a more thorough explanation of how to do this I can do it in DMs, or if you have Discord, even better.
Oh and by the way, the lighting on this one is gorgeous
