I'm still trying to keep it simple. My next render should be a tower or something with no floor so GI won't really be noticed.

Of course, can't go wrong with the striking orange.

I really like all of the variations you have done in this project.

Nice! Yes, the reflections are very impressive. Very futuristic.

That's my favorite part to these renders: the photorealism. thanks

great work. But why u rendered it in so high 3456 x 2765 resolution?

So the resampling when I resize to desktop resolution will take care of any aliasing and other IQ issues.

dude, those refractions are crazy!
question- how do you see where to put stuff if the refractions are like that? They would confuse me so bad... unless you worked from the back, I guess.

Well I can't tell what the refractions are going to look like before I render, but I know that refractions are just light rays traced through surfaces. If I put something behind a transparent object, it will refract through. For this render, as I just said, I put a bunch of junk behind the pillars to stress the complexity of refractions.

Nice. What I like about your renders is the contrast between the colour and the stark whiteness. Just for the same reasons I liked your shot of Andrew. These attract me.

I actually used a bit of photoshop to do that. I left the floor how the renderer gave it to me because it became all white after I did the blending.

This is really cool, love the way the light refracts through the tubes, scuse my ignorance but is this using caustics? (I've played around with C4d a bit but could never get anything I was happy with using caustics)

Well I used an effect called GI (Global/Indirect Illumination) which is part of the renderer VRay. I know other renderers use a similar effect as well. I didn't use caustics to generate the light refractions, but I could've used it for the primary or secondary bounces. I used an irradiance map for the primary bounce since it's generally quicker and of higher quality. I used to use caustics until I realized that I could never get it right!
