Description A continuation of my Sphinxes of the World series - I wanted to at least do a sphinx from each continent, but the last few continents (Antarctica, Europe and Australia) aren't exactly known for their big cat populations, so I had to take a few liberties.

Representing Europe is the Carpathian lynx. The wings are those of the snowy owl.

Thank you! Every once and while I get the itch to do more - it was such a fun project, I'll have to revisit it someday :3

The sphinx is gorgeous, Β but for some reasonΒ I find myself admiring the trees more than the lady O.o

Haha, poor Sphinx - after she went to all the trouble of wearing her prettiest hat |p

And it must have taken ages to don that top, what with her wings getting in the way and not having paws! Β

Well, our sphinx might take to frolicking in forests, but she's no ruffian - obviously, she had her lady's maid to dress her! |3

I read that lions used to be indigenous to southeastern Europe, but they were hunted into extinction sometime in the ancient Greek era.

And this was definitely an interesting series of images. You certainly have a lot of talent to pull of such quality and diversity...

I'll be looking forward to seeing more of your work. And out of curiosity, now that you finished with the sphinxes, will you be doing any other fantasy creature series in the future?

Well, I love mythical creatures, so there's a pretty good chance I'll be doing more like these in the future - it might be fun to do with other animal-human hybrids like mermaids or manticores

This is a lovely painting. Beautiful soft tones and textures and a great creature design.
Acrylics?
