Description Centropus bengalensis.

Parents returned from Thailand. With prrrey.

And here is the skull of this bird:

The ants just did a tremendous job in cleaning this thing. I also got the claws and a bunch of feathers, photos will follow.

Yep, ants are very useful. They cleaned a 2 cm bird skull which is now the smallest skull I have in my tiny collection . I don't know what bird is, I stolen the head from some cats winch caught the bird, so I couldn't see it's body, but maybe you know what is [link]

red-backed shrike would have been my very first thought, speaking of its pattern and colouration - although the colours of your specimen are pretty pale compared to other specimens. Let me look it up. *Grabs a birdguide-book*

I picked up few wing feathers and they where all grey..so I don't think is a red-backed shrike...
At first I thought it might be some sort of tit but I searched and there wasn't any bird to match this one.

After a bit of researching I think it's Sylvia curruca [link] [link] , obviously Lesser Whitethroat in english
It lives in gardens, parks and open forests, so I think it could fit...

Aha! The beak from my skull and from the bird in the picture are similar and the few wing feathers I got match the one from this bird. It seems it is a Silvie mică as we call it,somebody told me today it might be it, but I didn't have time to search right now. Thanks a bunch!
