It's been many moons since your cat and Stoat have interacted - you two were rather at odds against each other during your apprenticeship for whatever reason (perhaps a slip of the tongue, a misunderstanding, an accident that seemed like it was done on purpose, etc) and have since avoided each other as long as you could. For whatever reason - either you meet each other on a border patrol or are assigned on the same patrol and the other cat calls in sick, it doesn't matter. The fact is, you two have to interact and your differences aren't easily settled.

One of our cats get sick - fortunately, not the Sickness, but rather just a really bad cold. Not wanting to bother the medicine cat with their problems (they may or may not be confined to the medicine cat den regardless) they instead turn to cat B for help with either herbs or company. It may end up with the other cat getting sick after cat A leaves or they end up getting sick whilst cat A is still in the med cat den so they keep each other company regardless.

Your cat and Stoat occasionally go on strolls together, whether to get away from the active lifestyle back at camp or to avoid their duties or just to hang out, doesn't matter. It's either in DimClan or neutral territory. The fact is, always, when they are together something really odd happens - one of them gets stuck and the other has to pull them out, they slip on ice and crash into the other person, there's fireflies in the early evening and you two spot shooting stars at night and the occasional sliding into each other or hiding behind the other because something spooked them. The fact is, something either always gets them into trouble or puts them in increasing weirder positions. "You know, I'd almost say the world is trying to tell us something."

Your cat and Stoat have always (or just recently) became close (REALLY close) - and other cats notice this. There are the teasing remarks, of course, and for the most part, they try to ignore it. Except other cats can't keep their noses out of our cats' business and keep asking increasingly annoying questions. "Oh, are you two together?" "Aw, you two would make such a cute couple!" "Do I hear a declaration of you two being mates yet?" "Where are you two going? Off on a date?" "Please tell me you plan on having kits!" Either our cats have no romantic inclination towards each other or one of them has the crush on the other - doesn't matter. Regardless, the questions keep coming and eventually it puts a strain on their friendship. "You know, to get them off our backs, we should pretend to be mates - then break it off." Because that always solves these type of problems, doesn't it?

Either you cat knows Stoatripple or has only occasionally seen him at gatherings - the fact is, he seems like a pretty mellow cat who holds his tongue a good amount of the time. But one night/evening, you catch him, obviously distressed, not noticing your presence at first. After some prodding, he would admit that he doesn't feel cut out to be a warrior because his lack of hearing and how sloppy of a hunter and occasionally, fighter, he is. Your cat could opt to console him or help him with his 'problem'.

Stoatripple and your cat get along fairly well. Feeling out of options, they try to cope through it when cat B finds them, prompting them to spill the beans on what's bothering them. Knowing the other to be a decent friend, they agree, admitting to their 'problem'. The other cat could then admit to the same thing, agreeing to help them through it while they figure it out too, or they could try to help them through it, etc.

While out in DimClan territory/in neutral territory, they decide to go up to the rooftop or cross a dangerous looking platform. Cat B chances upon them and thinking the worst (that they're going to jump off and commit suicide) pleads with them not to do it. (Whether or not that was cat A's intention is up to you.)

Either our cats know each other or not, they start to have dreams of the other cat. Either of them being best friends, mates, of the world being in peace, of the other being their second in command/the other being the leader and them being the second in command, or of having to kill the other from the sickness ... the fact stands that they dream of the other cat. A lot. They're majorly surprised when a) they meet the cat of their dreams - literally b) something indicates that their dream is going to come true c) the other admits to having the same dreams.
