Description
Hi everyone!I need your opinion.
I asked my watchers some time ago, in what size you would prefer me to upload my paintings. The majority thought it better with a smaller sized image without any watermarks, as opposed to a larger size with one or two semi-transparent watermarks across.
Lately though, I've received quite a few requests to upload my paintings in a larger size, and thought I'd ask you guys again what you prefer. This time I'll upload an image of the two versions side by side, for easy comparison. The larger size, incidentally, is the version I publish on my website, so it would save me some extra work if I uploaded the same one to deviantART as well.
I know you aren't keen on watermarks though (who is?), so I'll leave the decision up to you.
Smaller image, without watermark? Or larger image, with watermark?
I'm posting a poll about the subject on my profile, and would be very grateful for your vote. The result of the poll, and your feedback, is decisive for how I will upload my paintings in the future, and also whether or not I will update my current dA gallery to the size of your choice. (If you'd like to see more examples of size vs. watermarks, visit my website and check out the paintings there.)
Thanks so much for your time!
Have a lovely weekend.

Hi! It's almost a tie between the two options now, it could go either way (though it's leaning towards larger at the moment). I'm kind of none the wiser for posting that poll.

Damn amazing work as ever And yeah, I can see the difference in sizes
Hadn't encountered that particular issue with the system, though...

Why, thank you very much!
It's tricky to decide what to do, but I guess it's a decision I won't have to make just yet - not until my next painting is ready to upload, anyhow. (Which I haven't even started on..)

I like to see the detail in your work (beyond the magnifying glass on your website) so my vote remains for the larger image (with the other suggestions I'd mentioned).

Thank you, Kassie, it's great to hear the argument behind the opinion, too. I'm glad though that I won't have to come to a decision upon this matter before uploading my next painting..

Small one without WM and it would be nice to see one or two details larger – but cropped, so no good to pirates.

I prefer the larger version because many of the details gets lost in the smaller version..
Also I think the watermark is fine

Thank you for your feedback! It's good to know that some people can look past the watermarks; so many seem to be against them here on dA.

I prefer the smaller. Watermarks are a visual disturbance that my brain refuses to look past. When I see a painting in person that I really like It always catches me from a distant vantage point. If you look to closely you get lost in the trees.

Thanks for asking. Although I dislike watermarks, they are the best way to protect your artwork from theft and reuse. As many of the other comments stated then you can see a lot more detail also. It's always nice to have a talented artist as yourself ask her audience for feedback.

Why is there no option "larger versions without watermark"? I'm only kidding, of course.
Frankly I hate watermarks and even though I understand why people put them, to me they keep looking like a cheap waffle wrapper stuck on in the middle of the painting. However, as "unartistic" as they are they don't really decrease the quality of the artworks, when they are transparent that is. They kinda prick you in the eye, but you can still enjoy the image behind them and evaluate it properly.
But when a beautiful artwork is reduced to the size of a post stamp.... there's hardly anything more irritating for me than that. You may have it nice and clean, with no watermarks to stain the picture, but what's the use when all the pretty little details are lost and you can only guess them? THIS decreases quality, it just takes away from the picture.
So, that's my arguments. Shortly - I prefer the larger version. But, seeing the comments below, that's just me

Humm it would be lovely to see it bigger but then the watermark ruins your work so the small one it is

Smaller because the watermark in the middle disrupts your beautiful art.

Personally I prefer smaller ones, watermarks really hinder my focus on the image.
Using a not-so-happy way of saying it, watermarks let you grasp the "general idea" of the image, but the interrupt the flow of lines and shapes.
Even if smaller versions are well, quite small XD, I prefer them.
P.S. I choosed to comment here and not voting in the poll, hoping my comment doesn't mix up in votes/comments for the poll
P.P.S. needless to say, I really appreciate your art, and it is only a "plus" for you to upload here and give me the chance to look at this beautiful pieces well, for free. Even with a 2x2 pixel resolution I'd still be thankful to you XD (sorry for bad English)

Thank you so much for your feedback, I truly appreciate it. I have to say, I agree with you - I personally find it hard to look past any watermarks.
I take all feedback into account, by the way, so no worries about not voting in the poll. It's great to know the reason why you prefer one or the other option, if anything.
And thanks so much, you're most kind! ^^
