Description A bean sprout my girlfriend (=Hyanna-Natsu ) grew, I edited the picture a bit in Photoshop because it was fun too (growing a sprout is fun! just put it into cotton and give it a bit of water once in a while - it is a cute little piece of life to cheer you up).

Isn't it cute? Try and grow one! They are cheap to have (just a bit of cotton and a bean, plus water), and they are cheerful.

Me and my family grow zucchini, tomatoes, squash, sunflowers, and failed at peppers. I like the sunflowers, the ones I have (California Sunflowers I believe) grow to be about 8+ feet.

Ok, you grow a lot of stuff then

Have you ever tried growing cherry tomatoes? I've never grown tomatoes, but I'm a big city person in the mainlands so I thought about starting with small things. If you have any tips on tomatoes in general I'd like to hear

Sorry for getting back to you late.

I don't think we have grown cherry tomatoes, but for most, it's daily watering, not so much that it floods the pot, but rather it soaks it (anywhere between light and heavy soaking, to be safe, I would lean more to the light soaking). It varies based on if it's in a pot and how big it is, or in the ground also you will need a wooden steak to hold the plant up it starts to droop. Be sure it gets a lot of sun light, it needs to receive near to full sun. Keep an eye on it, because insects will attack it. Last year, I did just that and got loads of tomatoes, so much that my family gave them out to family and friends. It may have been just luck, but my tomato plants survived a hurricane (it was a level 2 I believe, but still). Hopefully you will get lots of tomatoes, and they will be big. Make sure, and I cannot stress this enough, research on how to grow tomatoes, just to be sure of what you're doing.

Ah thanks, it is good to hear advice of someone who did it. I will research further before planting them. Surprising that yours survived a small hurricane!

Regarding insects and sun light, I wonder if it would still grow indoors next to a window. Or do you use some chemical to avoid insects? I'd like to avoid such things. Sorry if I'm bothering with too much questions

Well, we did lose a lot of tomatoes, but we still had plenty more. I do not know if you can grow them inside, I've never heard anyone do that before, but it might (not making any promises) still work. It will need plenty of sunlight, and the temperature as to be right, which is why it's better to have them outside. If you're growing them from scratch you can just put it in a pot outside or incubate it inside until it is pass sprouting, yet not that big. I don't remember what pesticide we used (if we did, I can't really remember), but we still saw bugs on the plants (not that often though).

I just had an idea that might be stupid. Putting a net around them, say something like a thin net (thin enough to avoid flying insects) around it, would maybe help? I don't know how much air it needs to breathe, but something like this could work... without pesticides.

That might work actually, go for it. Always keep an open mind.

If it works I'll tell you, first I have to think it up better though

But thanks for the patience. Cheers
