"..Because you're covered in mud, that's why."Young Timon being comforted by his lovely mother after a rough day in the tunnels, followed by some harsh bullying from Uncle Max and the other meerkat pups, along with a solemn head shake from his father. Timon, being the weakest of season's pups, didnt stand much of a chance.
This picture was heavily inspired by my favorite scene in Tarzan.

I did intend that. xD I draw young meerkats with huge ears... they gotta grow into them, ya know? xD I just took the creative liberty since we've never really seen him young (other than that deleted scene.)

Aww thank you! Wanna know something funny? I didnt do any shading at all. xD I used gradients to get the look of lighting on the characters.. and the background, well, I just painted that mindlessly. ROFL. It took awhile, but this is a "lazy" piece if you will. xD

PSH its still beautiful. i think thats why i like it so much, the shading/gradient is different from the usual things you see, and the colors are very eye appealing :3

Rofl, I know! Its weird xD
I just played with the gradiants.. literally just sat there and fiddled with it until I liked it.. I used 3 different layers with 3 different gradients to get the exact direction of light that I wanted... 2 layers were a black to transparent gradient and the otehr was a whitish blueish grayish (idk) to transparent to give the "spotlight" look.
