Ever wonder what timon says in the scene where his eating a grubs,well his a insectivore meerkat and so Pumbaa.Pumbaa:timon?!
Timon: Yes!
Pumbaa: did you know the part scene you say,while your eating a bug?!
Timon: Yah! and what about that?!
Pumbaa:Well you say your a insectivore right?!.
did you really ate a chicken before?!
Timon(flashback he remember)Oh no!......What!?
(looking at simba and pumbaa)

Meerkats, tho small, are predators.
They are, however, low in the food chain and are prey as well as predator.
In a MEERKAT FAMILY special I saw on TV, a Meerkat family is slaughtered one by one by bigger predators -until only one is left. I was angry & disgusted and did not watch the end.
Aside from me, audience reaction must have been likewise negative, as the show was never re-broadcast to my knowledge.

Meerkats do eat meat. Mice, birds, basicaly anything that will not eat them first. Warthogs can be scavengers.
