Yay!! My first realistic horse drawing in years!! It took me a long time to complete the mane, tail, and "feathers" (those long hairs around the hooves).
I give my permission for *color-me-club and ~EquineLineart to submit this to the Club Gallery.
I also give my permission for ANYONE to color this piece as long as you FOLLOW THE RULES.

How to do get your lines so uniform looking in opacity, yet thick and thin in the needed areas at the same time? I use the Ink Tool in GIMP set at size 2 or 3, it works, but the opacity is sometimes off.

First off, I use Adobe Photoshop CS3 for all of my works and never used GIMP, lol.
There are certain options in PS brushes to have the thickness vary with tablet pen pressure. For my Friesian Line Art, I used entirely the "Pen Tool" which starts you as laying down and adjusting a "path." Once you have it where you want, you would select to "Stroke Path" and it uses the settings of the last brush setup to simulate a varying line.
[link] This is much easier to understand than me for the basics in pen tool. It does not talk about how to change the thickness though.

I have Elements 7, but I don't use it except for manips. (I need to save up and buy The Photoshop..)
Gimp has something similar to that, Pen Tool, but I can't figure out how to make rounded lines. Oh well, I'll just have to experiment some.

Thank you very much for telling me! That's not sarcastic, either! I found the image is a collection of random horse images from a friend at work she burned onto a disc. She didn't tell me where any of them came from and the files were just all a bunch of numbers. Now that I know, I can give the proper credit. Thank you again!!
