Description
YES!!! That's correct!! I made a tutorial!! HAHAHA I just hope it works for your guys, hehe.At first, I was going to make a tutorial while I was working on a new equine art piece, but I've been in a large art block and also a busy work schedule, so I "recycled" one of my better manes, hehe.
Feel free to let me know about any mistakes in it or if something doesn't make sense, hehe.

I'm sorry, I have never used GIMP at all, so I have no clue about the differences between Adobe Photoshop and GIMP. I know GIMP tries really hard to be like Photoshop. Good luck!

Seen your coats on Howrse, so if you're willing to sure even a tidbit of your skill, I'm happy to know tht PS isn't too terribly evil to some people like it is to me. I'm faving this.

I have been getting a lot of requests, both on dA and on Howrse, to make a full drawing/coloring tutorial, but I haven't had the time to make one yet, and it's been hard for me to really know how to go about making a tutorial because I don't always use the same technique, lol. I push myself to try something different and new each time, so see if I get a better result, lol. One of these days I hope to get one made, though, lol.
Thanks for the fav, by the way!

Great tutorial, it really helped me a lot
where did you make the tutorial though?
I want to make one but I don't know how to

Candrence In reply to Emily-NinjaCupcake [2011-09-01 19:17:20 +0000 UTC]
I made the tutorial all from scratch just using Photoshop CS3 or CS4. I pretty much started with a really long blank file and built it from there,

warriorcats54322 [2009-12-05 22:01:59 +0000 UTC]
i'll give it a go! How long does it usually take you to do your mane? And is the tail basically the same thing??
π: 0 β©: 1
Candrence In reply to warriorcats54322 [2009-12-06 04:34:08 +0000 UTC]
Yes, the tail is done pretty much exactly the same way.
This is usually a really quick method for me, so depending on the size of the piece I'm working on and straight vs. curly makes a difference for me, lol. But usually no longer than half hour or 45 minutes if it's maybe really big and bushy curls, lmao.

I haven't used that one either, But I wish you the best of luck!! There is a free program you can download that a lot of people say is REALLY close to Photoshop, and it's called GIMP. Just Google search GIMP and it should be one of the first results. Might be something to try out,
