First off, yes, I know, it's been MONTHS since I've submitted new art and I want to apologize to all of my fans (if I still have any, lol). I'm so sorry, . Work and just a bunch of other little things kept me from being able to just sit down and paint. But, I finally had some extra time AND the inspiration at the same time, hahahaha.

So, I hope you enjoy my newest piece, an Indian Paint horse, . And, yes, I was going for a bunch of muscles and definitions, lol.

Oh, and I WILL be submitted this to Howrse as a coat in the next "round" of coats. So, be on the look-out for it and be sure to vote for it!!

I am so sorry, but since Howrse does not follow copyright laws, I cannot allow my artwork to be used on Howrse.

Hi! I've finally found your dA account! Well I haven't been looking that long since I only recently made this account, lol. I'm just another fan of your art. I must say, your my absaloute favourite Black Pearl artist!

This is soooo amazing! I love the detail, and the colours and everything fit together perfectly! Did I hear that this didn't make it through?! How is that POSSIBLE?!

Hey there! Β Sorry for the slow response (been busy with my new job, lol). Β Thank you so much for the compliment on my art

And yes, I did try to submit this painting as a Black Pearl coat, but with the new voting system, it never got enough votes. Β Out of about 2,000 votes in a single session, my coat would only come up maybe twice. Β So, there are some major flaws in the Howrse voting process. Β

That is alright! And no problem!
Aw, that's horrible! Yeah, I've heard people mentioning that the new voting system isn't very good.

Sorry, I don't make Howrse coats anymore. And it's against the rules to make coats for other players to submit.

Pay for Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended? Yes, you can find out more information on it at www.adobe.com

And it is NOT cheap, lol. I was lucky to get a 50% discount on it because I bought a Wacom Tablet a long time ago, so that helped me. I know college students get a discount if they are taking courses that require it.

Thanks! Well, I'm still going to keep trying, but my second attempt to get it into Howrse failed with "not enough votes" but it's hard to get votes if it never shows up, . I only saw it once during my days of voting and many other players have said that they either never saw it or only saw it once, . I think the voting system on Howrse needs some tweaking,

goldenboo In reply to Candrence [2011-09-25 07:36:27 +0000 UTC]

Ohh I also didn't see it in voting. And I have to say that I could vote only for 3 good horses, others were so bad, like from 6-years-old child.. Keep trying! I love it so much!

Candrence In reply to goldenboo [2011-09-25 21:39:06 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I know, there seem to be a lot of low-quality coats and those seem to be the ones that get through, or at least, I see those ones come up 10 or 20 times in a full week of voting. It's not very fair,

goldenboo In reply to Candrence [2011-09-27 07:40:11 +0000 UTC]

When I see the winning illustrations I have to say that I know some of them from Deviant but never see them in voting. It is strange.

Can I use this if I ever decide to make a horse quadsuit to get the joints in the right places? You just draw horses so well!!! I think I've used one of you coats on howrse before. I love Evipona.

Candrence In reply to Kevin-347 [2011-08-12 10:38:22 +0000 UTC]

I don't see why not, Just keep me informed of how it goes and how it helps because I absolutely love seeing how others use my art, Hahaha, I know that I'm still learning how to draw horses because I was not one of the lucky equine artists that grew up and/or still have horses, so my next best option is a slowly growing collection of the highly-detailed Safari brand model horses, lol.

But, at the same time, I need to find a way to make money off my paintings so that I can really cut down on hours and still pay the bills, lol. I don't see that happening, though,

Lovely coloring, and I love the handprint on his neck. You've always had fantastic skill with the manes and tails, but I especially love the locks of hair in the tail here, the sense of gentle, bouncing-up-and-down motion's great. In fact I would almost say I like the tail better than the mane, because the mane is so outstretched that it makes me think of a gallop. The head's a little bit, but I love the detail on the muzzle and eyes. Nice to see new work from you.

Candrence In reply to brightredrose [2011-07-28 05:46:39 +0000 UTC]

Grrrrr, I replied to this comment while I was at work from my phone, but I don't see my comment anywhere now, .

Anyway, let's see if I can remember what I said, lol.

Thank you very much, I'm so glad that you enjoy the coloring and my handprint detail, lol. I thought about adding a painted circle around the eye, but that would've made the head area too busy, lol.

I do agree with you that the tail turned out better than the mane, lol. It's funny because I love making the manes and tails the most out of the entire painting of a horse when I make them, and I enjoy pushing myself to make them better and I really enjoyed the tail this time, lol. The locks in the tail gave it a more 3-D look too, so that helped a lot. I still might go back to fix the mane but at this point, I'm just happy to be back to making paintings that I think I'll try to make new art instead of fixing little things in "completed" paintings, lol.

I think you meant to say the head looks a little 'big' instead of 'bit' lol. I kinda see what you mean, but I think it works with this painting because I gave this horse so many muscles that a smaller head would look weird, lol. It's funny that you say that you like the details in the muzzle because I started painting this horse a few weeks ago and started in the muzzle area and I guess I was really rusty from not painting in a while that I was not getting it to look right at all, so I gave up, lol. And then last night, I re-opened the file, but erased the painting I had done back down to just the "base color" I start with, then about 12 hours later, I had a completed horse I was happy with, lol. I was on a roll, lol.

And I know that a horse doesn't normally have blue eyes, or at least, not this dark shade of blue, but I'm a sucker for blue eyes and I didn't want a brown eye to just get lost into the rest of the color of the horse, lol.

lol, now let's hope that I can continue to make paintings again, lol.

Candrence In reply to Wrennars [2011-07-27 08:01:01 +0000 UTC]

*blush* Thank you very much! I'm always worried about getting muscles right because I didn't get to grow up with horses and I'd have to drive out of town to see any, so the best references I get are my Safari brand horse models, which can be pretty detailed, but still not the real thing, lol. But, I'm so glad that this painting worked,
