A commission I did of two elderly horses. Same client that owned Sam and Ben the carriage horses.Sadly, the brown horse, Staffie, died shortly after I took the ref photos for this portrait. He was ill with cancer which is why the owner had me photograph and paint them quick because she knew he wasn't going to be around much longer.
A3 in size and done in my usual mixed media on fabriano hotpress.

Thanks. They weren't my horses so I wasn't the one who had to feel that pain..not with him anyway. I've had my own creatures to feel that with.
