Out of mild curiosity, were you reading the essay by Hannah Arendt Between Past and Future at the time of making this? If you have not, I would highly recommend it since it focuses on exactly the concept you discuss here. Beautiful work, perfect execution...

I think there should be more clock parts exploding out. Maybe something like some springs or coils or maybe some rachets or little mechanical wheels.
