Felix isn't sexually confused; he's clearly gay and likes feminine clothes. I'm straight and I think that he is absolutely precious. lol Personally, I think his character wouldn't be as appealing if he were a girl.

Though he does think it's cute, that's not the main reason he cross-dresses. He was locked up for the first 9 years of his life, and Crusch saved him. By living closely with Crusch, Felix adapted a lot of her behaviour and lifestyle, and that's why he dresses and acts in a feminine manner. He perceives it as being normal because the time he spent in isolation caused him to develop several psychological disorders.

Yes they do, it always depends on context (I think when su is the last letter the u is usually silent (unless you don't want it to be), but it's just a guess) but it is still important grammatically, i.e. if you're gonna say "feris" you can't forget the u in the end since "s" is not a valid japanese letter

Even if it was in the middle of a word/name sometimes they don't pronounce it (Sasuke for example). If I was writing in katakana or hiragana, I won't forget the "u", but I wrote it in romaji, so I took the liberty to not write it.
