The broken tiara proposes interesting insight on this "alternate ending"... It not being in the main focus makes it clear the Elements of Harmony are already just a fable of the past.

Well now here's a disturbing thought, but hey, the S5 finale gave us this scenario too, in a sense anyway.
This is just chillingly awesome, between the disturbing scene, the great use of contrast in the lights and darks, the magic, to the little details (I see the blood), it has your signature to it, and rightfully so.
