But how do I get a layer from a different image to connect with that image? Ya know, cut out a layer on a certain image and then put it on another? I know how to cut a layer though.

hmm... well, you could always copy/cut the contents on that layer onto the other image and paste it on a new layer, then "free-transform" it to the size and shape you need it to be...
