Description Here's the signed photo that Rainbow Dash had next to her bedside. This was requested by .

Also, about the age gap. That was something that totally slipped my mind when I was making this, but I think I can kludge together an excuse.

Real horses have reached their adult height and weight after two years and live to be 18-22 years old. That means Dash could have been a 1-year old filly when she first saw the Wonderbolts, and the Wonderbolts could have been, say, 6-year-old adults. Three years later, Dash is accepted into the Wonderbolts. So Rainbow is an adult at four years old, and the Wonderbolts are only 9 years old, about middle-aged. That's plenty of time for her to be with them during their lifetime and for her to reminisce about her days with them as an old mare.

Does that satisfy everyone?

Ooh, nice. I like it, and I like how you've got the picture taped to the console.

I prefer to imagine that the ponies have human lifespans. Having them die before they even get to be as old as me is too depressing to think about.

Normally, if you ask me what I think of the whole 'follow your dreams' thing, I'd say it's stereotypical and corny...

...and yet, seeing Dash in this comic, reminiscing about the best days in her life with tears in her eyes; knowing that she's accomplished everything she's dreamed of, but now those dreams are gone; knowing that she's had a wonderful life, but at the same time knowing that it's a life soon to come to a close... that she's succeeded, but that she'll never feel that triumph ever again... that there will be no more adventure for her in this world, nothing left to do but pass on to the next... that, dammit, she did it... but now it's done, that she'll never do it again, and now, it's time to say goodbye...

... this is the only story of this kind I've ever read that's had this kind of profound impact on me, and yet the only words are the ones that appear in this panel.

"Always follow your dreams."

... Thank you, Capt-Nemo.

Man, I'd like an actual original sketch of Spitfire. Framed, and signed exactly like that. A-heh, either from you or the original animators, I wouldn't care!

No way. Princess Celestia is at LEAST 1000 years old and still looks really good for her age. Granny Smith must be like 65,000 at least! I don't think its too far-fetched for magical colorful ponies to just live as young adults for centuries though. There really isn't a very large population of children and old ponies in the show, just young to middle aged.

Her and Soarin DID have bags under their eyes at the Gala, if I'm not mistaken, and maybe they use hair dye to keep it vibrant.
