When we leave the building and he crouches on the pavement... that monologue he goes into... the way his voice breaks and gets increasingly hystarical...

I asked Nick's voice actor this same question. He said, "I think Nick is too focused on his job for a relationship. Everything is about his work."
I asked one of the developers this. He said, "Because Nick already had a girl."
I asked my fellow fans this. They said, "Because he doesn't have a dick."
And I'm just here like, "Nope. I will not accept any of that."

I read a theory on the "Fallout Confessions" blog that made a lot of sense.
In short, it said that Nick feels he's too psychologically fucked up to be a good boyfriend. He doesn't know who he is or where he came from, he has a dead man's memories in his head that he both uses as a crutch and haunts his grasp on reality, he deals daily with horrible bigotry and feels like a "freak" (his words).
Taking on a loving partnership means facing your own shortcomings, insecurities, and demons head on in order to support another person with theirs.
I think he's not only too afraid to face his own demons (in fear of completely losing his sanity, no doubt), but doesn't believe he can support another person with their own needs and issues. Instead of dealing with it (like Cait, MacCready, and Hancock eventually do), he runs away by burying himself in work.

I wouldn't be so sure about that for two reasons:
1. No dick =/= no sex. Lack of imagination = no sex.
2. Just because Synths in the.game are shown without genitals doesn't mean they don't actually have them. That could be censorship on Bethisda's part.
Case in point: when your character is "naked", they're shown in painted-on undies.
Another case in point: ghouls are also shown without genitals, and there is no way Hancock (who is romancible) ain't packin'.

Not in this case. Fallout 4 has more male than female companions and each romancible one reacts the same regardless of your character's gender.

I honestly wonder though if Schlongs of Skyrim has already been adapted for F4. If it was, I really hope they called it Wangs of the Wasteland.

You need to go for the PC or XBox One because PS4 won't get any mods. ;3;

That's pretty much the reason I buy games I know will have interesting mods down the line for PC. Well that and the fact that in this day and age patches are necessary and I don't see the point in connecting my console to the internet.
The downside is of course the whole thing with the specs.
