You'd think having robot relations would be an easy way to be able to give the player a homosexual relation (IT'S NOT HOMOSEXUAL! He's a ROBOOOOOT.) without having a bunch of people scream scandal. That's a bit dumb.

Bethesda allow you do romance any of the romance-able characters regardless of your character's gender. The dialogue is all gender neutral and any relationship can be gay or straight without anything being altered.
So... yeah, homophobia was never an issue here.

I see your point there, he has a backstory where a romance would fit nicely and maybe benefit Nick as a character, giving him somethjng completely his own. And the list of characters you can romance does squash the idea that he would always turn down the romance.
Heck au wouldn't mind if he did, just give me the option of voicing my feelings here!

Like, Piper's that spunky idealistic firebrand that a lot of 20-somethings are that older men like Nick find attractive at first, but after a couple months they realize they either can't keep up with them/she gets frustraited or recognize the single-minded ignorance that kind of thinking entails and either lose interest or sit back and sadly watch. So, if there ever was anything between them, it's long over.

I heard that if you:
1. Have your charisma and luck levels very high
2. Save (hard save, not quick save) right before the conversation where you can choose to romance, you can try again and again until they say yes.

Groundhog Day, though only seen once myself, is a great film. Better, though, are tv shows which do similar. Supernatural did one where one character kept dying in some way. A piano was one.

Yeah. Like there was a race of single sex Aliens, who looked to the player like they were hot blue human women with tentacles for hair. They would have sex with the play if you played male or female. They get points for the fact, coming from a single sex race, they didn't see whole gender binary thing. Male and female was concept they understood but sort of rejected. Also in the second game you can listen to several different alien races at a bachelor party. They make a big thing how the Asari, the blue skinned mono gender race, is sexy to every race, thus they hire one as the stripper.
The bird/bug race alien is like "Man I get why my people find these girls sexy, the look like my people but blue."
"What? No they look like blue humans" says the human.
"Are you crazy? They look like my people" says a third alien.
"Wait you don't think they are using their powerful psychic powers to make us think they look sexy do you?"
That was a cool moment.
Anyhow, second game you could sleep with your secretary who was a bi woman. Bonus points that the woman with the shaved head and covered in tattoos wasn't a lesbian.
Third game you do get a truly gay woman who won't be into dudes at all, and a truly gay man not into women at all. Also their is a guy from the first game who can show up who will be bi now, but I have to chose to save one of two people, the guy who might be bi in the third game, and a woman. I chose to save the woman, she was useful in fights.
Good series, but it had its flaws too. Dragon age was made by the same team, and they did a great job with gay, lesbian, bi and trans people. One of your followers in the third game is a leader of a merc company, and if you press him you find out his number two was born a woman. He then yells at you "Look he's a man, he always was, he just looks a little different now. Get over it. And if you pester him about his birth name I'll kick your ass." That is a helpful lesson to put in a game.

They really were a great series of games. Such good writing and characters, story wasn't bad either. Shame EA drove all the writers out of Bioware the makers of Mass Effect and Dragon Age. They are making Mass Effect 4, and well I'm not sure if I want to check it out. I loved the story not the fact it was a space shooter, and you got rid of the writers.

I have a hard time choosing between those two.
On one hand, Nick has those sad puppy eyes that break your heart while still somehow looking like his can break someone's face without looking.
On the other hand, Hancock is that wacky best friend we all wish we had.

Yeah. I like how Far Harbor kinda helped flesh out Nick's backstory, too, but you'd think you'd be able to date him. (especially considering he receives more quests & story time compared to some of the other love choices). Also there's the whole "he might have Kellog's personality inside him" thing they bought up once and never again...
But yeah, Hancock is awesome even when you dont date him
