Personaly for years I had use bagback to later change it to big pursue/bag. So I rather don;t do with my arms alike in this comics (not sure if sometimes it isn't happend when I take some small one instead).
My brother once had told me that many female pursue seems for him alike portals for other dimmension and weirdest stuff can came from them. Of course, my bag for him is one of with weirdest equipment - Adventure Game Protagonist's Pocket Level.

I did dress up as Foxy (an fox pirate from FNAF) when I worked nights at walmart.Β
Needless to say, the hook prop made my job a bit easier.
And it gave me an excuse to talk in a pirate voice!

I've seen older women do something similar but their hands and made into a fist and turn towards them, sort like trying to make a muscle. My grandma did that when she carried her purse and I copied that sometimes when I'm carrying something and I'm in a rush and in a crowd, is supposedly makes it harder to steal your bag. But, the E.T. thing... doesn't seem to have a point unless you are doing an E.T or raptor impression. Nor does it seem comfortable.

I personally think it's mostly a socially learned thing, but I didn't know that about forearm development.

The forearm muscle thing apparently affects the ability to throw things, giving men a bit of a better throwing arm.Β Which, given the nature of caveman life, likely made evolutionary sense.Β I don't think it has anything to do with baseball.
