Picture this:
Jenkins takes over the world with genetically modified hummingbirds. The sloth population is forced into slavery. He has millions of sloths to work for him and build lavish palaces all over the globe. He eats five meals a day, and much of the population works in the fields growing sunflowers for Jenkins' hummingbirds. Eventually, Jenkins gets bored with ruling the world because the sloth population hates him and blames him for all their problems.Β
A coup takes place, led by the aging Dr. Thomas (pictured above) who originally denied Jenkins of his hummingbird hypothesis. Jenkins chuckles at the irony, and leaves with all his hummingbirds, allowing Thomas' forces to easily take over the Jenkins administration. With the world in their power, they set up a bureaucratic, meritocratic democracy. Naturally, everyone hates this and wants to go back to the old system immediately. They reminisce about the "good old days" of the revolution, even though this system provides more comfort, security, and freedom than the other system.
Meanwhile, Jenkins will settle on a tropical island where he will grow walnuts to feed his darling hummingbirds. Occasionally, he will fly inland to a small city where he will buy a newspaper, just to see what has accrued while he was gone. Sometimes, while he is in said city, he will vandalize street signs or play practical jokes on people while riding on his hummingbird. Due to his mischievous antics, locals tell tales of a mysterious ghost who lives in the city. Authorities of the city have accepted this as fact, due to lack of other evidence.Β
