I wanted the plane to get hijacked because that's a made-in-the-shade conflict. I could either use lightbulbs or magnets as weapons. I started thinking of ways to weaponize them and I remembered that magnets are the bane of computers. Who would think that computers were out to get them? Conspiracy-theory-loving neckbeards, that's who!
So, yeah. That was my train of thought.
