Description

The Fab Four No. 9 – The Fifth Fab.  Over the past month a

strange young woman has traveled the globe and assisted

members of the Fab Four individually.  Each time using their

powers to do so, which is apparently her power.  She calls

herself Invada, and now she's met the Four together to ask for

membership.  Initially, her request is rejected, but somehow

Invada has altered the minds of the entire team, and joined

them as their fifth member.  Invada's goal is the eventual

take over of Philadelphia, and the nation.  First order of

business is sealing off the city, and counter any resistance from

the police.  Ultimate Power and Falcon Heart will deal with the

authorities, Arctic Wolf will act as Invada's personal guard

while Tecnicus uses his powers to erect a shield over the city

until the Fab Five has complete control.  Tecnicus explains

his power to create solid working images was not powerful

enough to maintain a city sized shield for very long.  Laughing

at his statement, Invavda tells the team she can read and

understand their powers better than they can themselves.

She choose the Fab Four because other hero teams were too

large, and always together.  The Four meet only once and a

while, which gave her time to assimilate their abilities.  In

addition, Tecnicus was possibly the most powerful than any

of them.  It was by tapping into his powers, Invada was ablie

to control the others.  His alien-boosted mental gift is able to

do much more than artistically create structures.  Tecnicus has

always underestimated his power levels, but with her help

those levels will be realized.  The Fab Five sets out to begin

their city wide take over, but unknown to the team, someone's

been listening.  Before Invada entered the meeting room of

the Four, Ultimate Power was about to communicate with

other heroes concerning Invada.  He never made the call, but

he accidentally left the communications open.  On the other

side of the world, Falcon Heart's wife, the humanoid feline,

Tine overheard everything from the Fab Four base in Belgium.

Knowing she had very little time, Tine used her powerful pet

dog, Tamaz, to transport her to Philadelphia after the team had

departed.  Tamaz, the hero hound did so, and then returned to

Belgium as instructed.  Meanwhile, Ultimate Power and Falcon

Heart make short work of the police near city hall.  None are

hurt, but they are being held in the hall's prison cells in the

basement.  Tecnicus hovers high over the city and forms a

transparent shield.  The effort is draining, but he's surprised to

see Invada was correct about his limits.  He returns to the base

for further orders.  Arctic Wolf stands guard at the base entrance

when he catches a familiar scent.  Invada stands over the

communication station, checking on the progress of her new

obedient team, as Tine enters the room.  Tine can 'smell' the

fear in Invada, and is shocked by it, but then remembers Invada's

powers have no affect on females.  Before Tine can attack, she

is intercepted by Arctic Wolf, who takes her to the floor.  Invada,

feeling confident reveals her story to the team about her origins

were a lie.  She is a succubus from the Ultra Realm, the same

dimension Tine is from.  She wanted to dominate that world, but

the males there are far too powerful.  On Earth, the male heroes

are like clay, and here she will rule.  Invada then orders the

boy wolf to kill Tine before the others return.  He raises his

massive claws and pounds them at Tine.  Invada, who had turned

away, turns back to inspect Tine's lifeless body.  To her amazement,

Arctic Wolf merely hit the floor near Tine, leaving her unharmed.

Invada orders Arctic Wolf to dispose of Tine again.  He swings at

her, but doesn't connect.  Tine then gets up and leaps at Invada,

just as the rest of the team enters.  Invada then orders the Four

to hold Tine, they move toward her without hesitation.  Tine turns

to Invada and gives her a single knock out punch.  Her link to the

team now severed, they return to normal.  Tecnicus creates a cell

that shields the Fab members from her affects, Tine then opens a

portal to the Ultra Realm.  Before she departs with Invada and

Tecnicus, Arctic Wolf admits he wanted to obey Invada's command

to kill Tine, but couldn't.  Falcon Heart explains his wife is a healer,

and her powers must have partially interfered with Invada's influence,

or it could be that the Four's closeness to Tine prevented any of

them from seriously harming her.  Tine and Tecnicus takes Invada

through the portal.  On the other side, Tecnicus tells Tine about the

limitations on his powers, and that they seemed to have returned

without Invada's assistance.  Tine assures the teen marvel, that in

time his powers will grow as he does.  Tecnicus then tells Tine he

told Invada there was no openings for new members in the Fab,

but he was now offering it to Tine.  Tine smiles, and hugs the boy

hero, but declines the offer.  Tine announces she will be there for

the Fab Four when ever they need her, now and forever.  They

again smile and continue on their way.  A new enemy is stopped,

but danger is always just around the corner.  Will the Fab Four

be able to meet the challenge?  The only way to know is in the

next exciting issue of the Fab Four!!

Humm good finish but, and this is just me being a writer, would have loved to read this full script with all the dialog and the fight scene would have been great fully written out, but again just me.

I had this consern with the last issue but i wanted to wait to see if it grew on me. I think you could have come up with a better name for Invada, it just does not fit her powers or personality very well, I think "Siphon" would be better

In the future you should probably try to better explain the relationship between Invada and Tine's powers, the "white paladin" healer expatiation just left me wanting.

also Tecnicus powers, i just don't understand how there can be limits that will raise over time, Conjurers (people that make constructs) don't normally have limits on the size of what they can build, only duration, and streght and most of that is controled by focus and emotional control.

the type of limits you talk about are normal for natural heroes like Meta's and Mutants like U.P. and most of my team excluding Armory, but for people that get their powers after they are born it is usually set at limits and their my be a learning curb but they normally don't grow in strength over time Ms, Marvel is a good example of this, but even Static Shock who is said to be the most power hero in the time travel episode is understandable because he is an elemental and that is normal, but not for a Conjurer.

Just seems a little weird, you should probably do a back story on it, go to space and find the race of being that his powers came from or what not.

Just some observations

I'd love to sit and write a full story about the 'Four' or any of my OC's, but I haven't the time.  The stories are based on things that
happens on the 'real life' individuals.  Invada is a person we know who 'invaded' our space on dA...You have to check out Tecnicus
(which is Latin for artist) to know his story, but the real life person wrestles with the same issues.  Falcon Heart and Tine are married
in real life, and all of the character's home countries are real...I live in Philly, Tecnicus in Helchteren and so on.

I try to belt these things out as fast as possible, and don't really consider other people as far as entertainment value other than the
people its based on.  The story arch with the Horde is much more involved, but the plot (like all the rest) was greatly condensed to
fit on the dA page.  The Pyj world project is much more detailed, I'd like for you to read it...not this stuff.  I'll post it again someday.

Thanks for the input. Check you out soon!

Just different creative styles i guess. when I look at comics I always compare it to everything else in the comic universe, just because their are some precedences of comic books that i feel need to be followed to be a truely great comic book.

You just free hand it, which is good it breaks you from the ties of doing things the way they have been done in the past lets you experiment and innovate.

nothing wrong with either style, I just wanted you to know where i come from in comic book writing so you don't think i am being critical just to be critical.

I'm glad.  I started this a while ago, but the story took longer.  I'm happy it revolved around Tine this time, especially now.
You said she was a strong woman...now I hope her character reflexes that as well!

I'm aware it's not easy for you..since your computer shut down....
And I see how much details you put in your covers....
How long do you work on one cover?
Tine will be happy with this. And her character is like she is... she is tiny but strong....
I'll read the background story later....
But it's amazing as always Bro'

Its hard to calculate with out my old girl, but before she had her nervous break down it took about three to four hours
from drawing to scanning and finally coloring and text.  I never work on them straight through (too busy), but I have
some time while I wait for a library computer.

How long do you have to wait for a library computer?
I'm aware that not having a computer must be tough for you.

Earlier I worked 10 hours at week ends on one manipulation....
But now since I'm retired...I'm too busy....so I don't do them straight through anymore...
Always start from a white sheet and at the beginning it always looks like nothing...just have to select copy and past like a big jig saw...saving is the biggest work and sometimes takes so much time to...do

Captain86 In reply to 58bluemarbles [2014-03-11 21:16:11 +0000 UTC]

So far the longest I had to wait was 65 minutes at the main branch.
That's my favorite, because you can have an hour...sometimes
more if there's no reservations behind you.

Waiting more than an hour...You're a very patient person Bro'.....

Is it the library on the pic you made?....Dimi told it was your favorite one...

Captain86 In reply to 58bluemarbles [2014-03-12 00:23:56 +0000 UTC]

Yes, but the library was behind me as I took the photo.  The two
images of me (and Ultimate Power) were photoshopped in.  The
structure behind the images is the Franklin Institute.  Most of
Philly's finest museums are together on that parkway! Oh and
yes, its my favorite, and its very close to the river Dimi and I
talk so much about!

It a nice place to grow up. Philly has everything, except a beach.  But like all big cities, world wide, it has a lot of
good places and bad.

The drawings don't take long. Must of the time I'll work on them while I'm waiting for a free library computer.
My scanner still works fine, and it works wireless with my Son's old laptop.  It takes a bit longer to color
because of the lack of memory...its very slow, but when my computer worked the whole process took three
or four hours (total).

Unlike the larger Pyj project, the covers are done on standard 8.5 x 11' paper, and I only draw on a portion of that.
The title is pre-made and the text are added later!

I read the background story....it's amazing and it's like Tine cleans...house.
And when she is angry she looks cute...but you can better stay out of her way.....
She does everything for her boys.....
