Description
Grease (or Greased) Lightning was one of my first characters developed when I was
a child. He's a member of the Galaxy Guard, based in Earth's far future.
Grease Lightning's true name is Tel Yuun of Twen. Tel lives on planet Terrran, which resides in an alternate dimension. Terran is that dimension's Earth.
Tel was a student and athlete studying quantum mechanics. While working with his professor, the two discovered a means to traverse other realities using vibrations, electro magnetism, and gravity. During their work, Earth's dimension was discovered, but it appeared to be at a stand still. Further studies revealed time moved significantly slower. Tel was fascinated with the prospect of exploring a new world. He used the professor's calculations and equipment to alter his physiology to survive the dimensional divide. Tel passed into Earth's 25th century, but in the middle of New York's Times Square. The authorities apprehended him and the hero group Galaxy Guard were called for one of their members , Master Mind, expertise. Using a translator device, Master Mind learned who Tel was and how he got to Earth. Unfortunately, its was determined that Tel would die if he tried to go back through the dimensional divide. Even more tragic, Tel would die if he remained in Earth's dimension. Master Mind found a way to stabilize Tel, but the stabilization had a side effect. Tel could control his temporal velocity up to the rate of his home dimension. This gives Tel the appearances of super speed. As gratitude for help he offered during a case, Tel was granted membership to the Galaxy Guard as Grease Lightning. Members of the Guard wear uniforms which allow them to fly. Tel can do anything he did before at very high speeds. Alterations to his physiology allows him to resist the effects of friction.
