Very few times has he actually realised how overbearing he can be, but when he has and its upset the other person, it's led to him pulling a 180 flip with whoever he's been doing it to and some very earnest attempts at making up for it.

If you've read so far, you'll know that Devon's most beloved hobby is photography. He adored taking and looking at pictures as a young kid on vacations and when his mother picked up on this, they got him his first digital camera (a pretty cheap blue one which he decorated in stickers) that he fell in love with. For his 15th birthday he got a much more expensive camera, once he showed how serious he was for the art, and the art teacher at his school helped him between lessons with developing his eye and skills. Now you'll never see Devon without at least one camera on hand (including his smartphone) and he'll use it everywhere. Selfies, definitely, landscapes, of course, just capturing good times with friends, that's what it there for. All his favourite snaps get printed out and stuck into one of his scrapbooks so that he can remember his favourite times.

      {TLDR} (i really dont blame u, I have a problem when it comes to writing long backstories)
  -Devon was raised by his single mother, and was raised confident and social. He had a preference of hanging out with girls over guys but this was purely because they also loved to talk and gossip as opposed to sports and such.
  -He was made to go to an all boys school to change this preference, and while he made many friends there, his closest buddy was a shy rabbit guy called Emile.
  -In his teen years, Devon had a relationship with a ferret girl called Sasha, and while he loved her, he never wanted to go further than just hugs and kisses and dating, feeling panicked by the idea of going further or having sex.
  -During a house party they ended up arguing about it and broke up, Sasha then spreading the rumour to everyone that he was gay just because he didn't want to have sex with her.
  -At the same time his best friend Emile ended up in a heavily one sided relationship with a controlling guy called Cameron, and despite Devon's attempts to break it up, he only ended up getting shouted at and insulted by the both of them.
  -Due to all the rumours and no friends for support, Devon retreated to the internet, making friends on forums and blog sites instead. This is where he learnt about asexuality and the difference between romantic and sexual attraction, which helped his doubts a lot.
  -Eventually the rumours faded enough for him to start hanging out with irl friends, but by the time he spoke to Emile again, he told Devon that he had ended his relationship with Cameron and was moving back to Madison to avoid him.
  -Devon couldn't find out what happened to cause this, but ended up in a physical fight against Cameron in retaliation. Afterwards he moved on, not making any real close friends and staying up to date online.
  -He found out about the collection of nonconforming citizens through his forums, and packed in advance. When it was his turn, he tried to record it with his smartphone, but one of the officers smashed it and roughly shoved him along.
  -Now he's on the train and feeling pretty bitter about all of this stuff.

Charlie is an only child, his parents divorcing at a young age so that Devon was left only with his loving, if high-strung mother. She was a very out-going lady who, between work and caring for her son, went out with a various array of boyfriends during Devon's childhood. This kind of left him without a real father figure as his mother wanted him to spend no time at all with his actual dad, but also made the pup very used to meeting new people. (Especially as he was often left with many baby sitters or daycares). In his early years of school, Devon made friends with most he met, being raised by his mother to be confident and courteous. However he found himself usually hanging out with girls more than playing the rougher games of sports that the other boys would play, and while many parents were amused by the idea he was just a little charmer with the girls, it was only because he generally found them to be a lot nicer and accepting of his social and talkative nature than a few of the more aggressive boys of his class.

However around the time Devon was supposed to chose his next school for his higher education, his mother was with a particularly prejudiced boyfriend who decided that Charlie's preference of talking and hanging out with girls instead of boys was too 'soft' and that he needed to go to an all-boys school to teach him to be a real man, and his mother unfortunately agreed. That was how the Australian Shepherd dog found himself cut off from all the friends he made before in this new school, and while he tried to keep in contact with his old friends and eventually made good friends with most boys throughout the class (being a chatterbox meant many people got to know him pretty quickly, especially in detention.. because he never learnt to shut up), Devon in fact ended up befriending a very shy and introverted rabbit boy called Emile who had moved to Loomlake from Madison (the desert oasis town of the far west).

As no other boys wanted to deal with a quiet kid who didn't even know their way around Loomlake, Devon took Emile under his wing quickly, as Devon loved to talk and teach and show off his home city, and Emile loved to listen and spend time with someone who actually seemed to care when he had something to say. (Emile was also very shy so once he felt comfortable with Devon, he didn't feel the need to try and make friends with many other classmates). The two bonded super closely, and while Devon continued to be very social with all he met (he made a lot of friends from different groups over time), it was rare to see one without the other close by or talking to each other through texts.

As they grew up however, and the subject of girlfriends and sex began to frequent conversation in their class, these were the few times that Devon would be actually quiet because he really felt he had little to say about any of it. A relationship had always looked nice from what he had seen of his mother's happier times during her string of relationships at least. So when one of the girls from his old school, a ferret named Sasha, asked him out, he blindly accepted thinking that it would be a good thing to try out. And he did really adore having a girlfriend, someone to be so close to, spoil with gifts and get to hug and go on dates. Only after a few months, she started to get a little too intimate for his liking, small kisses became long and drawn out to the point of making him uncomfortable and she began to try and get him alone more often, especially in each other's own rooms. Any time Sasha tried to suggest that they go further, he'd quickly duck out or say not yet, sometimes even panicking at the idea until she left it alone.

Which worked until a house party got her more than a little tipsy, making her completely forget Devon's slight fear of going further until he had to physically shove her off when she got too close. In the heat of the moment she flew into a slight rage that had been built up over the months, shouting that if he didn't have sex with her then it was over and she'd tell everyone that he was gay. He sadly told her that it had to be over then because he just didn't want to do it, which she replied 'well why did you even lead me on then?' before leaving him in a strop. While she later apologized once she sobered up, this argument had also happened at the house party, in front of all the party goers including many at his school, so rumours spread like wildfire that Devon was gay. He didn't care about the rumour in the slightest though, he never thought being gay was a bad thing and at times he had found guys attractive anyway and tried his best to ignore it by sticking close with Emile and spending more of his time online, away from all the judging eyes.

During this time Devon also found himself being drawn towards the art based subjects of classes (particularly photography) and Emile towards maths and science, because while they of course met up between lessons, it led to Emile making a new friend in these lessons (especially as the australian shepherd had been busy with Sasha so much outside of lessons). This new friend, a panther named Cameron, was very understanding and patient with Emile, and due to their many overlapped lessons and shared interest in the sciences, they became very good friends, which Devon was all too happy to see happen to Emile. But he never felt easy about the panther, as he could tell very quickly that the big cat was quite controlling and very self-assured, which Devon knew was quite the contrast to his friend Emile. All too often he soon found Cameron to be talking over the rabbit, making all the decisions, dragging Emile wherever he wanted, which soon riled Devon's fur. But it was only once Emile uneasily told him that they were dating that warning bells went off for Devon, the canine quickly trying to suggest this wasn't a good idea.

However Emile was quick to defend Cameron, saying that Devon just didn't know the panther like he did. The subject was dropped but Devon watched uneasily after his last relationship as Emile was pretty much pushed and pulled around by Cameron, obviously uncomfortable with making their relationship public and yet the panther made it loud and clear for all to see. Any time he tried to raise the subject that this just wasn't right, Emile would only shoot him down by saying that Devon was just jealous and didn't understand. Devon knew these weren't Emile's words though, he wouldn't think like that unless someone gave him the idea. So eventually he decided to confront Cameron, telling him that unless he started treating his best friend better and stop manipulating ideas into his head, he would make sure this relationship ended. Only the panther was quick to turn the table, throwing the idea at Devon that the only reason he had chosen to be Emile's friend in the first place was because he was just as controlling as, if not more, controlling than himself. That, it was really just Devon's fault that Emile no longer wanted to be friends with him.

This was a painful confrontation which really shook Devon's confidence, deciding he would leave Emile and Cameron alone to do as they wanted. In fact between the rumours surrounding himself and the problems with his old best friend, the teen found he had few friends left which made him retreat to the internet for friends who didn't judge or know about these dumb rumours. It was during this time he found LGBTA+ forums, learning all about different sexualities and that there was a difference between a sexual attraction and a romantic one. He could definitely identify himself as asexual, but he wasn't sure if he had a romantic orientation to any one gender, deciding he'd only know with experience. He often spent his time on forums from then on, finding people who shared his feelings on not just love but on news, photography and basically everything. He made a lot of new friends there, which lasted him just fine until the rumours died down and he could hang out with old friends again.

However it was too late to repair his friendship with Emile, as by the time he caught up with his old best friend, it was a tearful experience in which Emile could only say that it was over with Cameron and that he was moving back to Madison again to avoid him. Nothing Devon could do would make Emile talk about what happened between them and it was a sore goodbye when the rabbit left. When Devon aggressively confronted the panther about it, Cameron said little but his smug expression was all the canine needed to throw a punch, and they got into quite the fight which Devon badly lost.

After that, the shepherd dog just tried to move on, instead throwing himself into his passion of photography and keeping close tabs with all his internet friends. His confidence slowly returned but he made no real close friends again during school, and by the time it was over at 18, he was pretty sure he was going to just travel for a year and do whatever, not sure what he wanted to do with his life. That was until the public service announcement was made, Devon watching closely online of footage and reports that many of those targeted for collection were members of the LGBT+ community seen online or at protests. While he wasn't sure if he would be collected, Devon made sure to pack a few changes of clothes and his cameras, wanting to document whatever happened just incase. He tried to warn his mother, but she waved off his concerns, ignorant to her son's orientation or the people being targeted by the collection. Unfortunately the police in Loomlake took the collection very seriously, and Devon found himself being ripped away from his mother without a goodbye, his smartphone's screen being smashed by one officer in the process as he tried to record what was happening. By the time he got on board the train in Summervale, the canine found his arms feeling overly sore from all the physical co-ersion.

And it was during this busy period she would strike. Normally the spotted thief would spend her mornings in the forest, or outside hearing the bird call one way or another, but she had seen her money supplies dipping which meant another trip to market to pilfer something new and sell it to keep her going for a few days. Just because she was a thief didn't mean she spent all her time stealing, just the bare minimum to avoid getting caught. She found her paws fiddling with the rope around her shoulder, her trusted weapon of choice though her dagger remained tightly sheathed to her leg for emergencies. Not that she expected to use either today, she didn't even require the rope to get on and off the roof tops if there was a few strong supports to climb down. Fortunately for me this town is strong and I know it like the back of my paw. She thought with a purr, though it was hard to stay optimist when it was so boring to sit there just watching. It was a necessary precaution however, to watch your area carefully before going to steal. Charity had learnt to many time to count that one miscounted shade or soldier and you ended up having to go through the whole charade of running away and hiding in a hole somewhere which basically wasted a whole day. She'd try to convince them it was no use chasing her, but nevertheless they were determined cats. Though stubborn was probably a better description. The golden eyed she-cat watched the market carefully, noting each cat who walked by, each seller who put out their goods and each armed cat who surveyed the area. Her eyes were always attracted to the things that glittered, such as the trinkets, gold and the wary glints of concealed swords. Yet at that moment it was not a weapon that caught her eye but a bright red cloak signifying a cat who felt very superior in themselves. The brown tabby was a new face though, so the mokave she-cat decided she would just observe them for the moment, and maybe use this to her advantage later.

If you've read so far, you'll know that Devon's most beloved hobby is photography. He adored taking and looking at pictures as a young kid on vacations and when his mother picked up on this, they got him his first digital camera (a pretty cheap blue one which he decorated in stickers) that he fell in love with. For his 15th birthday he got a much more expensive camera, once he showed how serious he was for the art, and the art teacher at his school helped him between lessons with developing his eye and skills. Now you'll never see Devon without at least one camera on hand (including his smartphone) and he'll use it everywhere. Selfies, definitely, landscapes, of course, just capturing good times with friends, that's what it there for. All his favourite snaps get printed out and stuck into one of his scrapbooks so that he can remember his favourite times.

[ Backstory ]: Warnings: Implied abuse in a relationship.

      {TLDR} (i really dont blame u, I have a problem when it comes to writing long backstories)
  -Devon was raised by his single mother, and was raised confident and social. He had a preference of hanging out with girls over guys but this was purely because they also loved to talk and gossip as opposed to sports and such.
  -He was made to go to an all boys school to change this preference, and while he made many friends there, his closest buddy was a shy rabbit guy called Emile.
  -In his teen years, Devon had a relationship with a ferret girl called Sasha, and while he loved her, he never wanted to go further than just hugs and kisses and dating, feeling panicked by the idea of going further or having sex.
  -During a house party they ended up arguing about it and broke up, Sasha then spreading the rumour to everyone that he was gay just because he didn't want to have sex with her.
  -At the same time his best friend Emile ended up in a heavily one sided relationship with a controlling guy called Cameron, and despite Devon's attempts to break it up, he only ended up getting shouted at and insulted by the both of them.
  -Due to all the rumours and no friends for support, Devon retreated to the internet, making friends on forums and blog sites instead. This is where he learnt about asexuality and the difference between romantic and sexual attraction, which helped his doubts a lot.
  -Eventually the rumours faded enough for him to start hanging out with irl friends, but by the time he spoke to Emile again, he told Devon that he had ended his relationship with Cameron and was moving back to Madison to avoid him.
  -Devon couldn't find out what happened to cause this, but ended up in a physical fight against Cameron in retaliation. Afterwards he moved on, not making any real close friends and staying up to date online.
  -He found out about the collection of nonconforming citizens through his forums, and packed in advance. When it was his turn, he tried to record it with his smartphone, but one of the officers smashed it and roughly shoved him along.
  -Now he's on the train and feeling pretty bitter about all of this stuff.

Charlie is an only child, his parents divorcing at a young age so that Devon was left only with his loving, if high-strung mother. She was a very out-going lady who, between work and caring for her son, went out with a various array of boyfriends during Devon's childhood. This kind of left him without a real father figure as his mother wanted him to spend no time at all with his actual dad, but also made the pup very used to meeting new people. (Especially as he was often left with many baby sitters or daycares). In his early years of school, Devon made friends with most he met, being raised by his mother to be confident and courteous. However he found himself usually hanging out with girls more than playing the rougher games of sports that the other boys would play, and while many parents were amused by the idea he was just a little charmer with the girls, it was only because he generally found them to be a lot nicer and accepting of his social and talkative nature than a few of the more aggressive boys of his class.

However around the time Devon was supposed to chose his next school for his higher education, his mother was with a particularly prejudiced boyfriend who decided that Charlie's preference of talking and hanging out with girls instead of boys was too 'soft' and that he needed to go to an all-boys school to teach him to be a real man, and his mother unfortunately agreed. That was how the Australian Shepherd dog found himself cut off from all the friends he made before in this new school, and while he tried to keep in contact with his old friends and eventually made good friends with most boys throughout the class (being a chatterbox meant many people got to know him pretty quickly, especially in detention.. because he never learnt to shut up), Devon in fact ended up befriending a very shy and introverted rabbit boy called Emile who had moved to Loomlake from Madison (the desert oasis town of the far west).

As no other boys wanted to deal with a quiet kid who didn't even know their way around Loomlake, Devon took Emile under his wing quickly, as Devon loved to talk and teach and show off his home city, and Emile loved to listen and spend time with someone who actually seemed to care when he had something to say. (Emile was also very shy so once he felt comfortable with Devon, he didn't feel the need to try and make friends with many other classmates). The two bonded super closely, and while Devon continued to be very social with all he met (he made a lot of friends from different groups over time), it was rare to see one without the other close by or talking to each other through texts.

As they grew up however, and the subject of girlfriends and sex began to frequent conversation in their class, these were the few times that Devon would be actually quiet because he really felt he had little to say about any of it. A relationship had always looked nice from what he had seen of his mother's happier times during her string of relationships at least. So when one of the girls from his old school, a ferret named Sasha, asked him out, he blindly accepted thinking that it would be a good thing to try out. And he did really adore having a girlfriend, someone to be so close to, spoil with gifts and get to hug and go on dates. Only after a few months, she started to get a little too intimate for his liking, small kisses became long and drawn out to the point of making him uncomfortable and she began to try and get him alone more often, especially in each other's own rooms. Any time Sasha tried to suggest that they go further, he'd quickly duck out or say not yet, sometimes even panicking at the idea until she left it alone.

Which worked until a house party got her more than a little tipsy, making her completely forget Devon's slight fear of going further until he had to physically shove her off when she got too close. In the heat of the moment she flew into a slight rage that had been built up over the months, shouting that if he didn't have sex with her then it was over and she'd tell everyone that he was gay. He sadly told her that it had to be over then because he just didn't want to do it, which she replied 'well why did you even lead me on then?' before leaving him in a strop. While she later apologized once she sobered up, this argument had also happened at the house party, in front of all the party goers including many at his school, so rumours spread like wildfire that Devon was gay. He didn't care about the rumour in the slightest though, he never thought being gay was a bad thing and at times he had found guys attractive anyway and tried his best to ignore it by sticking close with Emile and spending more of his time online, away from all the judging eyes.

During this time Devon also found himself being drawn towards the art based subjects of classes (particularly photography) and Emile towards maths and science, because while they of course met up between lessons, it led to Emile making a new friend in these lessons (especially as the australian shepherd had been busy with Sasha so much outside of lessons). This new friend, a panther named Cameron, was very understanding and patient with Emile, and due to their many overlapped lessons and shared interest in the sciences, they became very good friends, which Devon was all too happy to see happen to Emile. But he never felt easy about the panther, as he could tell very quickly that the big cat was quite controlling and very self-assured, which Devon knew was quite the contrast to his friend Emile. All too often he soon found Cameron to be talking over the rabbit, making all the decisions, dragging Emile wherever he wanted, which soon riled Devon's fur. But it was only once Emile uneasily told him that they were dating that warning bells went off for Devon, the canine quickly trying to suggest this wasn't a good idea.

However Emile was quick to defend Cameron, saying that Devon just didn't know the panther like he did. The subject was dropped but Devon watched uneasily after his last relationship as Emile was pretty much pushed and pulled around by Cameron, obviously uncomfortable with making their relationship public and yet the panther made it loud and clear for all to see. Any time he tried to raise the subject that this just wasn't right, Emile would only shoot him down by saying that Devon was just jealous and didn't understand. Devon knew these weren't Emile's words though, he wouldn't think like that unless someone gave him the idea. So eventually he decided to confront Cameron, telling him that unless he started treating his best friend better and stop manipulating ideas into his head, he would make sure this relationship ended. Only the panther was quick to turn the table, throwing the idea at Devon that the only reason he had chosen to be Emile's friend in the first place was because he was just as controlling as, if not more, controlling than himself. That, it was really just Devon's fault that Emile no longer wanted to be friends with him.

This was a painful confrontation which really shook Devon's confidence, deciding he would leave Emile and Cameron alone to do as they wanted. In fact between the rumours surrounding himself and the problems with his old best friend, the teen found he had few friends left which made him retreat to the internet for friends who didn't judge or know about these dumb rumours. It was during this time he found LGBTA+ forums, learning all about different sexualities and that there was a difference between a sexual attraction and a romantic one. He could definitely identify himself as asexual, but he wasn't sure if he had a romantic orientation to any one gender, deciding he'd only know with experience. He often spent his time on forums from then on, finding people who shared his feelings on not just love but on news, photography and basically everything. He made a lot of new friends there, which lasted him just fine until the rumours died down and he could hang out with old friends again.

However it was too late to repair his friendship with Emile, as by the time he caught up with his old best friend, it was a tearful experience in which Emile could only say that it was over with Cameron and that he was moving back to Madison again to avoid him. Nothing Devon could do would make Emile talk about what happened between them and it was a sore goodbye when the rabbit left. When Devon aggressively confronted the panther about it, Cameron said little but his smug expression was all the canine needed to throw a punch, and they got into quite the fight which Devon badly lost.

After that, the shepherd dog just tried to move on, instead throwing himself into his passion of photography and keeping close tabs with all his internet friends. His confidence slowly returned but he made no real close friends again during school, and by the time it was over at 18, he was pretty sure he was going to just travel for a year and do whatever, not sure what he wanted to do with his life. That was until the public service announcement was made, Devon watching closely online of footage and reports that many of those targeted for collection were members of the LGBT+ community seen online or at protests. While he wasn't sure if he would be collected, Devon made sure to pack a few changes of clothes and his cameras, wanting to document whatever happened just incase. He tried to warn his mother, but she waved off his concerns, ignorant to her son's orientation or the people being targeted by the collection. Unfortunately the police in Loomlake took the collection very seriously, and Devon found himself being ripped away from his mother without a goodbye, his smartphone's screen being smashed by one officer in the process as he tried to record what was happening. By the time he got on board the train in Summervale, the canine found his arms feeling overly sore from all the physical co-ersion.

Charity sat low on the rooftop, her brown speckled back laid flat against the sun to soak in the warmth but also to prevent detection if some feline were to look up and see the silhouette of a she-cat on the roof. It was mostly relaxing to sit on the rooftop in the morning, and watch as the market slowly woke up, much like a weary animal, starting off sluggishly slow only to grow in strength as the sun rose to become a busy hive of activity. And it was during this busy period she would strike. Normally the spotted thief would spend her mornings in the forest, or outside hearing the bird call one way or another, but she had seen her money supplies dipping which meant another trip to market to pilfer something new and sell it to keep her going for a few days. Just because she was a thief didn't mean she spent all her time stealing, just the bare minimum to avoid getting caught. She found her paws fiddling with the rope around her shoulder, her trusted weapon of choice though her dagger remained tightly sheathed to her leg for emergencies. Not that she expected to use either today, she didn't even require the rope to get on and off the roof tops if there was a few strong supports to climb down. Fortunately for me this town is strong and I know it like the back of my paw. She thought with a purr, though it was hard to stay optimist when it was so boring to sit there just watching. It was a necessary precaution however, to watch your area carefully before going to steal. Charity had learnt to many time to count that one miscounted shade or soldier and you ended up having to go through the whole charade of running away and hiding in a hole somewhere which basically wasted a whole day. She'd try to convince them it was no use chasing her, but nevertheless they were determined cats. Though stubborn was probably a better description. The golden eyed she-cat watched the market carefully, noting each cat who walked by, each seller who put out their goods and each armed cat who surveyed the area. Her eyes were always attracted to the things that glittered, such as the trinkets, gold and the wary glints of concealed swords. Yet at that moment it was not a weapon that caught her eye but a bright red cloak signifying a cat who felt very superior in themselves. The brown tabby was a new face though, so the mokave she-cat decided she would just observe them for the moment, and maybe use this to her advantage later.
