Description

Amelia Aston is an archivist and aspiring historian from the year 2262 who works at the Eternity City Historical Institute. She's been stuck down in the basement archives for much longer than she ever wanted, in part due to her out-of-fashion academic obsession with the Power Rangers. Her's is a era where the police force's use of mass produced, uniform, morph tech has desensitised the public to the point that they'd forgotten what a true ranger was.

One day she arrives at her office to find a being waiting for her, a being calling himself the Immortal Ranger. He tells her she is an Origin Point and perhaps the only person with the skills necessary to correct the slowly unravelling time line. An origin point is a person, object or concept that anchors time around itself stabilising history simply by existing. He suspects that someone or something is going through time and space destroying such points. He gives Amelia a choice, become a Power Ranger and correct the errors in time, or stay put and watch everything she knows to be true shatter and cease to exist.

Amelia has little time to decide what she wants to do, as soon she is pulled back to the year 2029 to meet with Darwin Oakley - a man with demon-tainted blood, on the run from the hordes of demons who have over run the Earth. They soon realise correcting history could be a lot more complicated than they first thought - the damage goes further back even further in time. Later they are joined by Cadet Natalia Flinders of the Steele City AIRS unit from 2014; student Carmel Kenyon from 2058, a time with very little conflict but one which may be hiding a dark secret; and Atticus, a lightning magi from ancient times in service of the Emperor and the Nine Magi Clans.

On their travels the Century V are both helped and hindered by legendary rangers, come up against the troubles each time period throws at them, and do battle against a woman codenamed Santiago, whose one goal appears to be changing the course of history. To what end? They can't be sure, but it seems as though the Immortal Ranger is far more involved than he originally let on.

I've had this team in mind for probably a year and half now. I've scrapped them and re-jigged them more times than I can count.

Their overall role in the Fighting Spirit Saga is something of a mix of Gokaiger and Timeranger - two sentai I love but always thought had concepts that could have been expanded somewhat. The hypothetical story as I imagine it would include cross overs with all my other teams in a variety of different AU and canon forms. So... slightly Decade too I guess. Haha

Their zords are a fusion of vehicles and their totem dinos.

Century Red's Archaeopter - archaeopteryx + helicopter
Century Black's Ankyloader - ankylodon + front loader
Century Pink's Velocipatroler - raptor + patrol bike
Century Yellow's Kentrodasher - kentrosaurus + sports car
Century Blue's Elasmarina - elasmosaurus + submarine

And they combine to form Fossil King.

The ranger's sidearms are the Minute Swords - blades with a distinct, ancient-looking clock hand design.

Their morphers are the Timeshifters, which look like ornate, wrist-mounted clock faces. They are controlled simply by moving the hands to different times.
