Description

This is something I wanted to do before my Star Wars Prequel meme, but I thought of how the prequels could have been fixed and it made my ideas for sequels look primitive in comparison. But then I sore Fanscription’s “What If Finn Was The Main Character In The Star Wars Sequels?” video and started thinking about my version of the sequels again. But when I started this, I realised that the sequels where so broken that it was going to take more than five changes to fix the whole trilogy, that’s why I made a second meme for this rewrite.

1: Make Finn the main character who doesn’t turn good until the end of the first act

After watching Fanscription’s video, I thought it best that Finn was the main character. I was always connived that he would become a jedi at some point but the Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker just waisted him to the point where you wonder why he was even there. Also, I think his character shift came too soon, so I think is best if he only becomes the good guys after meeting Ray for the first time and maybe just lets a prisoner go behind the first orders back.

2: Have Rey be a Jedi in training who turns to the dark side is Episode 8

Something that everyone and their mums was expecting in episode 8 was for Ray to become a Sith at the end but obviously she just become another protagonist. I still wanted her to be a jedi just to keep her fall to the dark side intake, I also thought that her being a jedi from the start would also fix the problem of her being a great force user from the start. So here, she is a jedi in training who is being tout by Laya who is now a jedi master.

3: Have Rey and Kylo be the twin children of Luke Skywalker

This may be a bit predictable, but I think it would help Ray and Kylo’s character and legitimise Ray’s fall to the dark side. So here, we find out that Kylo is Laya’s son in episode 7 but in episode 8 Kylo reveals to Ray that not only are they sibling, but Luke reveals that the two of the are his children who he left in the care of Laya and Solo who tuck one each after they were devoted, Kylo then grow-up found out the true and killed his stepbrother.

4: Combine Pow and Rose is to one character who dies in Episode 8

I’m one of the few people who liked Rose in the Last Jedi, but eve I can admit she was a bit pointless overall, especially in the Rise of Skywalker. As for Pow, there was nothing that made him stand out from everyone else and I kind of forgot he was there most of the time, you could replace him with any other hackneyed Maverick style character, and it won’t make a difference. So, I decided to give his role to Rose and made him a minor character like Wedge Antilles, now Rose is the one who is given the information and she’s the one who is the squadron leader in the final space battle. Also, I dissed to kill her off, not because I don’t like, but actually for the
exact opposite reason, I wanted her to survive so badly that if she did die then we would feel Finn’s pain and rage that would fuel his anger and determination in episode 9.

5: Make the main villain a Thrawnesk General

Meany people say that Grand Admiral Thrown was the best character in the Star Wars: expanded universe so why not have a similar character here. He’s not a lot like Thrown but he fills the same role, someone who is always five steps ahead of the characters and always keeps his card close to his chest. This character is a bit more crooked and weasel like, than thrown but is virtual the same character.

6: Only have Luke Skywalker appear near the end of Episode 8

Luke Skywalker felt like such a novelty in the Last Jedi and his role was so under played because Ray was already a great force user beforehand. So, hear, Laya starts off as Finn’s master until she is killed by Kylo Ren and now Finn want’s to find Luke Skywalker so he can not only train him but also to help fight the First Order. This is the quest him and Rose go on to instead of looking for the hacker, eventually Rose leave him and he goes off on his own. This way, Luke Skywalker’s appearance will feel more rewording and his decision not to train the newcomer would hold more wait to it, this also means he will live on into episode 9 to train Finn further.

7: Don’t kill off Captain Phasma is Episode 8

So many important characters were killed off so unceremoniously in the Last Jedi, and Captain Phasma was no exception. She was the one most unique character in this new trilogy, and not only did they get rid of her as if it was nothing but didn’t give her anything to do in any off the two films, she featured inn. Here she’s way more present throw out the trilogy and becomes way more threatening as a villain as it is her who organises the attack at the opening.

8: Have the conflict be a Civil War between an Asian Style Republic and a Medieval style New Order

Something that stood out to me about Kylo Ren in the Force Awakens is that he was meant to be like a medieval knight, but I don’t think that the movies went further enough with that idea, so I decided to go all the why with it, making the First Order like the armies of Mordor and making the Knights of Ren secondary villains and each one has a lightsabre version of a medieval weapons. You can also continue that idea with the jedi and give them the aesthetic of the very thing that inspired them, so with that, I give them a easter Japanese/Chine/India/Tibetan look that bring out the style of the trilogy.

9: Make Leia a Jedi Master and Solo a Republic Senator

In this version, Laya take on the same role as Obi-Won Canbi in the original trilogy, she starts off as the main characters mentor only to die and become a guiding spirit for the rest of the trilogy. As for Han Solo, we need to see him in a different life than before, we need to see how he is as a smuggler turn ambassador and Republic Senator. How would the rest of the senators feel about his past life?

10: Frame the trilogy around Ancient Jedi history

This need to feel more like a definitive end to the Star Wars Saga, and as always, the best place to end is where it all began. Here, Ray is seeing visons of ancient force ghost that only she can see and because no one is interested in where Luke Skywalker is, here, the information that BB8 is tasked with grading is the map to the Temple of Ren where the visons of the ancient force ghost are coming from. In this version, the Knight of Ren are an old sect of force users who predate both the Sith and the Jedi, now Ben Solo has reasserted it, as the first Skywalker was a knight of Ren. Episode 9 ends with the temple being destroyed along with the evil entity inside, meaning that Ray is now “The Last Skywalker”.

Bonus Fixes:

Give each movie a distinctive style and location like the first two trilogies, Episode 7 has ancient jungle feel, Episode 8 has an industrial metropolis feel and Episode 9 has a Caribbean ocean feel.
