Description An idea given to me by , it's a number of the disney princesses dressed up in their Once Upon a Time (OUAT) costumes. I did this for a Halloween costume contest and a bit of fun.

We have Snow White, Belle, and Cinderella in one of their fairytale outfits and then a Storybrooke outfit. Aurora and Mulan only have their fairytale outfits because at the time I drew this, they hadn't gone to Storybrooke.

All character and costume designs belong to their respective owners either with Disney, ABC, the Once Upon a Time crew, or other parties I have forgotten.

Thanks! I came up with that when I was trying to think of a way to show that it was animated Disney Snow White (personality and all) just dressed up as OUAT Snow. Disney Snow is so sweet and innocent that I figured that would be how she'd react if she was handed the prop knife

Got to admit, I dig it. Even though it just bothers me more how... white... they all are... I mean, some part of me sometimes thinks of Snow White as Latina just because I wanted more diversity.

Sadly, that's a limitation from using the animated Disney characters. All of them expect Mulan are of some sort of European descent. I was also limited to the Disney princesses (though I broke this rule with Mulan ) that had appeared in Once Upon A Time. If characters like Kida and Tiana make an appearance, I may add them , but for now this was all the diversity I had available to me.

Anyway, I'm glad you liked it despite that and I really do appreciate the comment. Now I really want to add some more characters. It would be nice if it wasn't so...pale.

Tiana's story takes place in 1920's New Orleans. She will not appear in this show.

Disney's version of Sleeping Beauty took place in the 14th century, and Frankenstein took place in 1700s. These are all loose interpretations, so I don't think specifics like date are an issue. The only limitations on what the writers will bring in are copyrights, how well they fit in the narrative, and their own wishes. They may never decide to put her in, but the option is open.

Tiana's story takes place in 1920s New Orleans - A time period and place you can find pictures of. Because of this Tiana will not be in the show. Kida's from Atlantis - how will that work, unless they change her home place? Pocahontas is based on a real person - so she won't appear in the show either.

Again, they're making loose interpretations. Little Red Riding Hood was not a wolf in the original story. Belle was the daughter of an inventor, not a princess, in France in the Disney version, and the Beast was not Rumpelstiltskin. Though the show got the rights to use the Disney versions' names, that doesn't mean they'll be exactly the same. Plus, it seems like there are multiple fairytale "worlds" in the show that could be more or less like ours. A "1920s New Orleans" world may seems silly, but "voodoo magic" like that shown in the movie certainly doesn't exist in ours. Perhaps they dive to the bottom of the sea near Snow White's kingdom and find Atlantis? Who knows? Maybe you're right and none of them will make an appearance, but my personal opinion is that the possibility is open (and this reply is too long )

They're not fairy tale worlds, they're just worlds. You have our world, the Enchanted Forest, Wonderland, Neverland, Oz, and whatever world Frankenstein comes from. It's multiverse of famous fiction.

CaptBeans In reply to Wolfcho [2012-11-30 07:16:09 +0000 UTC]

Exactly. And it's possible there are more we don't know about yet, and they could fit the setting of any work of fiction. They've also found ways to work in stories whose settings didn't match, so a whole different world for them might not be necessary. Things can change and have.

By the way, I do agree on Pocahontas. Real historical figures, even in fictional versions, probably wouldn't work.

This conversation is really old but...isn't Mulan based off of a historical figure?
There's nothing that says they can't incorporate Pocahontas somehow.
Mulan is Chinese, and China doesn't exist in the Enchanted Forest, but they found a way around that.
Pocahontas is Native American, and America doesn't exist in the Enchanted Forest, but I'm sure they could find a way around that if they really wanted to. Same with Kida. The sky is their limit.

Oh, yeah, it's not a you problem. I know that. It's definetly the show and Disney movies. I was SO ticked about the Lanaclot thing...

What about it ticked you off? That he brought a bit more ethnic diversity to the show and was a good character, but he was there and gone is a flash?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AthenaNightshade In reply to CaptBeans [2012-11-03 18:47:38 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, that the episode that he was introduced in was the same one that he died in. I would have really liked to see more of him! Besides adding diversity he seemed like a kick butt character! Honorable, loyal, soldier.

CaptBeans In reply to AthenaNightshade [2012-11-04 05:56:08 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, he was awesome! Guess maybe it was supposed to make us really hate Cora for having forced him from the plot so quickly. Maybe while the writers are thinking of a way to bring Graham back, they could think of a way to bring him back, too.

AthenaNightshade In reply to CaptBeans [2012-11-04 16:55:06 +0000 UTC]

There were SO many opportunities to make him an awesome character! He could have been one of the best characters in the show. His conflict between his honor and dishonor. His morals vs. his perception of himself, etc.

CaptBeans In reply to AthenaNightshade [2012-11-05 02:50:35 +0000 UTC]

Well, we didn't see a body in the show, so there is still a chance that he's still alive. And if he truly isn't...he'll live on through fanfiction and fanart.

So freakin; cute! I LOVE this show! But I'll be 100% honest; I HATE Belle in OUAT. They made her this really bland Stockholm syndrome enduced girl, but by God Emilie de Ravin's so goshdarn cute.
