Description The Constitution Class Heavy Cruiser is a design by Matt Jefferies. The "Phase II" variant is the interim design, between TOS, and TMP. Originally intended for the comeback of the series. It was redesigned again, as it was decided to go with a movie.

There are a few differing variants of the "Phase II", as even the original schematics aren't the clearest. This is my take.

Nice, I wonder if the pylons are compatible with any TMP Constitution hull.

i think i prefer phase 2 to TMP, though both are more attractive than TOS in my opinion

Depends on the ship, hand how they're drawn.

Very true, though in this case I was speaking specifically about the Constitution itselfΒ

Ah, gotcha. To each their own. I'm rather fond of the original.

Oddly enough, I think I could've gotten behind this design if they used it for ST TMP; It retained enough of it's TOS to be familiar, yet also shows promice of advancement (I wonder If I was the only one to find the 'new' Constitution class in spacedock a little jarring?)

I think I prefer your take on the interim design than a few others I've seen out there. The red bussards give it a touch of class in my opinion.

Yup...As long as they don't get so small, you can't use it.

Ah, but the smaller engines tend to be just as powerful as or more powerful than the bigger ones! That's how advancement works, by putting more power in a smaller package.
