The Ranger Class Cruiser is a design by Vanguard, and modified by me. And is a TMP refit of the Baton Rouge Era Ranger. [link]It was suggested that I put two engine on my previous USS Kelvin posts. I relised that it ended up looking like an updated USS Ranger.

Β Too bad the Ranger was never actually refit, seeing as how she was one of the first ships destroyed during the events leading up to the Four Years War.

Flip it upside down and you'd have something closeish to the Enterprise. Interesting!

As I recall, this was of a similar design for the possible designs for the Enterprise before Star Trek premiered.
Even been thinking more about the possibilities after watching Star Trek (2009) and began wondering what if the Kelvin design would become the Enterprise, or hell even what if the Kelvin design became the NX-01.

I would have put the struts leading to the engines parallel with the saucer, instead of at an angle and have the engines vertical instead of horizontal, but very nicely done! Looks really good with the secondary hull on top ... just saw a preview of the upcoming movie today in the theater, looks better than I thought it was going to.
