Woolshed Falls under the Milky Way, Australia. 7th of June 2013

Slightly different view to my last upload. As was the case with it I had to blend in a longer exposure to bring up some detail in the falls as it was so dark there. But unlike "Cascade", which was a panorama, this is just a single shot field of view.

I would love to know which one you like best out of the two.

I wouldn't mind reading up a tutorial about the technical background and so.. Sorry for my ignorance if you do have tutorials in your gallery, I did look very briefly this morning , but could not find any. Any ideas on a good tutorial. I am interested in landscape, no trail photo for now, just stars, maybe milky way if I manage. Is it possible to shot the milky way within a large city?

"Is it possible to shot the milky way within a large city?"Β  -Β  No.Β  Too much light pollution.Β  You need to get well away from artificial lights to fully capture and appreciate the Milky Way.Β  Try to get at least 50km (about 35 miles) from any towns/cities and certainly no large cities on the horizon in the direction you want to shoot.
