"Just For Fun"
Despite the almost full moon I was keen for a night out under the stars last night. A little bit of cloud cut short the star trail image I was doing (coming soon) so on the way home I decided to have a bit of fun.
PLEASE NOTE:
I took this image in a forest that was already completely burnt out by a fire only a few months ago and only after heavy rain. There is nothing left to burn. Even so I had a fire extinguisher on hand just in case. I would never even think about doing this in hot dry conditions and in a high fuel load area.
Canon 5D MkII, 14mm, F/2.8, ISO 50, 30 seconds.

Thank you. Yes you certainly can start fires doing this and for that reason you have to take lots of precautions doing it. For instance, I choose this location very carefully and I only shot it after we had had a lot of rain. This location is in a forest that was totally burnt out by a bushfire a few months ago. There is nothing left there to burn again. I certainly would not do this in the middle of summer.

Awesome. Everyone can do a sparkler time lapse, but this is something different
