Mt Buffalo National Park, Australia, 29/08/14

Spent the night back at one of my favorite locations to image from a couple of nights ago.  There was still a bit of snow around from heavy falls earlier in the year.
With the central bulge of the Milky Way directly overhead and a crescent Moon setting in the west, I thought it was a good time to do another all sky panorama before setting up for a few timelapse sequences.

A lot of people on another site have said I should have called this image "Dragons Eye" and I agree that that would be a great title for this, but "Infinity" reflects what I was feeling on this night, as I spent a large part of it just lying on my back and staring up into night sky.

23 image panorama.
Canon 6D, 14mm, F/2.8, ISO 6400, 30 seconds.

a perfect title would have been "Infinity in a Dragon's Eye".

Yes I did. I'm a writer by trade, Still haven't published anything but someday I will.

Also if you want a tip on how to make writing poems a little easier, all you really need to do is look at a poem that you like and then feel out the tempo and word numbers... Emulate the feel of the poem's heart.

For example the poem you commented on shares its roots with a scene from Lord of the Rings the Return of the King, Where the Half Elf Arawen speaks of the prophesy surrounding the shards of Narsil and her Love, Aragon.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=olGboZ…

"From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king."

Which if we put it side by side with my own poem would  go like this

Behold the Eye of the World Dragon,   whose breath is as hot as the stars,      with gaze as cold as the mountains,           and mind as sharp as his claws."
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,  A light from the shadows shall spring;   Renewed shall be blade that was broken,  The crownless again shall be king."

They're not identical by any means but you can see the similarity... a shared breath if you will that ties them together... Building off of what already is can be much easier than simply figuring out what already works.

It also helps to use music as a catalyst for any stories or emotions you are trying to convey in writing too... If you want to write about a battle or an emotionally energizing scene or dialog you can try listening to some really epic or uplifting music. A good example would be songs made by Two Steps from Hell or something Techno and epic...

using music that fits the Genre of story you are writing also is very useful... You can't really think about Knights in shining armor when you're listening to dubstep can you? xD

Thanks for complementing me on the Poem, I've been going through a rough time recently and your Complement really helped

Wow! Nice. So what kinds of stuff do you write?

Well, I guess that applies to many things. Same goes for drawings. You stare at what you like and study it, then try it out yourself. I do fancy writing poems myself sometimes. XP But I haven't really developed that skill.

Oh I see! They share a common feel and rhythm. That's amazing!
But wait, on a side note, Arwen is not half elf.

I know that all too well! Music and art go together. Music evokes imagination, and many pieces feel similar to music. I often play my fave types of music while drawing They boost each other. Oh I know Two Steps From Hell! >D I love epic music. I also love those swaying moving ones like soundtracks of Ghibli/anime movies. Especially those with violins and pianos. Do you know Patrick Doyle, Hiroyuki Sawano, or Joe Hisaishi?

"You can't really think about Knights in shining armor when you're listening to dubstep can you? xD" lol so true!

Oh glad to have helped! It's such a small thing for me.

And sorry for the really late reply.
