Description "An Hour Under The Stars" It would have been more than an hour if it were possible but the tide was coming in and kept forcing me to retreat up the beach bit by bit, I was finally forced to move from this perfect spot when the sand started to be washed away from under my tripod making it tilt over (don't worry I was keeping a very close eye on everything, the second the sand started giving way I grabbed the whole tripod with the camera still mounted and moved it up the beach to a new spot out of harms way). We're protected by the Great Barrier Reef here so the sea is usually dead calm so you can stand in it without fear of getting anything other then your feet wet, it's also lovely and warm so it's very pleasant to stand in little frothy ankle deep waves and watch the stars.

You can watch my night sky time lapse movie Ive just finished making called "When Darkness Falls" on YouTube here - www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPnAq-…

It's a time lapse sequence, so hundreds of shots overlayed over one another to map the moment of the stars as the Earth rotates. The exact frames from this image were also used in this video clip I made, but instead of stacking them into a static image they play frame by frame and create a motion time lapse movie.

I can easily imagine how peaceful and wonderful your starshooting sessions can feel like: Nature is sacred and your work a perpetual tribute to it.
