Any tips on getting a clear photo like this? I have a decent SLR but not sure what lens, filter and settings I need to use...moving north soon to a region well away from large cities so kinda excited to try this.

Mostly it comes down to having a very solid tripod, don't skimp on your tripod get the best you can afford (think of you tripod as an investment in better photos) I've had the same tripod for about 7 years and it's been through hell and back so buying quality pays off. The lens is secondary but generally the faster the better eg (f1.4 or f2.8) also the wider the better if you want to fit lots of sky in, also go for the best lens you can afford as the quality is absolutely worth it.
