Total Lunar Eclipse, 8th of October, 2014

Work commitments the next day meant that I had to stay home to observe this eclipse instead of traveling to one of my favorite dark sky sites as I had originally planned.  So I set up the telescope in the backyard and just enjoyed the sight of the Earth's shadow slowly creeping across the face of the Moon.  I took a heap of images over the course of the event but I am not sure when I will have time to properly go through the all.  Ridiculously busy at the moment.

The two bright spots next to the Moon are stars which have been captured due to the longer exposure.

Canon 5D MkII
10" F/4 Newtonian Telescope (1000mm focal length)
NEQ6 Pro computerised telescope mount set on lunar tracking
Baader Coma Corrector
Single 5 second exposure at ISO 100.

The cool think about this photo is you also grabbed two small images to the left and right of the moon.  I tried experimenting with my camera and saw a red tinted image to the left of the moon.  I'm in North America of course.
