Work commitments the next day meant that I had to stay home to observe this eclipse instead of traveling to one of my favorite dark sky sites as I had originally planned. So I set up the telescope in the backyard and just enjoyed the sight of the Earth's shadow slowly creeping across the face of the Moon. I took a heap of images over the course of the event but I am not sure when I will have time to properly go through the all. Ridiculously busy at the moment.
The two bright spots next to the Moon are stars which have been captured due to the longer exposure.
Canon 5D MkII
10" F/4 Newtonian Telescope (1000mm focal length)
NEQ6 Pro computerised telescope mount set on lunar tracking
Baader Coma Corrector
Single 5 second exposure at ISO 100.

Maybe? Perhaps someone stole it. But heaps of people would have taken a very similar photo so it was probably someone else image you saw.

No. I am Excellent with comparing images to one another. looked exactly the same, but a lot of people put images on bing claiming to be theirs.

we didn't see it in Europe, we just had the red moon (we say that when she's red, she lies)

Yeah this happened during you daytime unfortunately. Next year the opposite will happen, where you will be perfectly placed and will miss out.

Very nice! I missed seeing it with my own eyes, but at least there are a bajillion pics online.
I like how the two stars almost seem to be escorting the moon... perfectly timed capture on your part!

This is amazingly beautiful, my husband informed me of the eclipse; he was lucky enough to witness it during his 'early' work schedule. I thank you for giving me the opportunity to see it also.

Pity; I only saw it once. Got up at 5 am one year just to see it.

That is incredible!
Many night sky pics look very noisy to me, but that is so clean it could almost be a painting or 3D render. Well done indeed sir.
